I grew up on a Maryland farm in a rural town with a population under 800. In my youth I walked to and from school and on weekends I rode horses with my friends. From a young age I showed a penchant for visual art but also science. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s in Graphic Design. Since there was no sufficient job market for designers in Maryland, I decided to move to Manhattan because I wanted to experience the art and culture that NYC had to offer. As it turned out, design work was a poor fit and I loathed sitting in an office all day staring at the monitor. I soon resigned and quickly became immersed in dance and acting. For the longest time, dance was my life. After performing for over 11 years, I longed to help people on a higher level and dreamed of a job that would satisfy my soul.
I moved to Arizona in 2012 and graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in 2015. My primary interests include medical aesthetics, hormones and anti-aging, men’s and women’s health, endocrinology, and preventive wellness. In my spare time I like to stay physically active as much as possible. I am also a certified Pilates teacher. My hobbies include dance, theater, fine art, cooking, being outdoors, and traveling.

Humaira Quraishi, ND, MS, is a naturopathic doctor serving patients at her practice in Fort Lee, New Jersey. She aims to inspire, empower, educate, and treat her patients’ health issues.
Born in Pakistan, Dr. Quraishi immigrated to the United States with her parents when she was 4 years old. She has traveled to Pakistan throughout her life to visit family, and during that time, she gained an awareness of health and wellness in both countries. There were differences but also similarities, such as doctors quickly seeing patients without proper care or guidance into their lifestyle as well as the lack of education about illnesses.
With these in mind, Dr. Quraishi knew there was more to health than just prescribing medication to mask symptoms. She wanted to get to the root of the problem and help prevent diseases in the first place. Thus, she began her quest into naturopathic medicine and nutrition.
Dr. Quraishi graduated with her Bachelor of Science in biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She then pursued her Master of Science in nutrition at the University of Bridgeport Nutrition Institute before earning her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the University of Bridgeport School of Naturopathic Medicine.
During her time in Bridgeport, Dr. Quraishi interned at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia and worked with many naturopathic physicians in the fields of kidney disease, food allergy, gastroenterology, and general health. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and New Jersey Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Many factors play into health, such as the root cause, nutrition, vitamin and nutritional deficiencies, mind-body wellness, and education about diseases. Dr. Quraishi strives to use all of these in her own practice.
Dr. Quraishi is beyond excited and grateful to guide patients through their healing journey and teach them how to heal themselves now and into the future.

“Dr. Horowitz is heaven sent. In my virtual appointment with her regarding a recent osteoporosis diagnosis, I found her to be genuine, easy to talk to, and an expert in the field of women’s health. I was looking for a plan of action that only included pharmaceuticals as a last resort, and she not only delivered on that, but went above and beyond in exploring solutions to my unique situation. ”

Dr. Halland is comfortable in general care from the natural perspective but has seen particular success in complex cases, the emerging covid long-haul and dysautonomia cases we're now seeing, and GI cases. She also has a special clinical interest in balancing female hormones naturally.
As a post-grad instructor for continuing medical education her most recent courses developed have been on Anti-Aging and Vitamin D.
“I suffered for years until I found Dr Halland. So many doctors discredited my symptoms or didn't know what to do. I came to her with treatment resistant SIBO and through working with her we discovered many others issues that were contributing to my chronic illness: hormone issues, long covid, pancreatic insufficiency, adrenal fatigue, and much more. As we addressed & healed these issues I was able to finally heal my gut & get my immune system back. I'm no longer sick & tired all the time! ?”

Some may ask, what is a Naturopathic Doctor (ND)? Naturopathic physicians combine the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science. Steeped in traditional healing methods, principles, and practices, naturopathic medicine focuses on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. By using protocols that minimize the risk of harm, naturopathic physicians help facilitate the body’s inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal health. It is the naturopathic physician’s role to identify and remove barriers to good health by helping to create a healing internal and external environment.
Naturopathic physicians work in private practices, hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. NDs practice throughout the United States and Canada. Qualified naturopathic physicians undergo rigorous training before they become licensed health-care practitioners.
NDs treat all medical conditions and can provide both individual and family health care. Among the most common ailments they treat are allergies, chronic pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, obesity, respiratory conditions, heart disease, fertility problems, menopause, adrenal fatigue, adjunctive cancer care, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. NDs can perform minor surgeries, such as removing cysts or stitching up superficial wounds. However, they do not practice major surgery. NDs are trained to utilize prescription drugs, although the emphasis of naturopathic medicine is the use of natural healing agents.
