Dr. Shahbandar was born in Michigan and raised in Wisconsin. During his training at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, he worked alongside leading experts in the field of pain management. He later contributed to physician education as part of the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he helped train residents and fellows for three years.
