Dr. Tarek Shahbandar is a board-certified physician specializing in interventional pain medicine at the Centers for Pain Control & Vein Care across Northwest Indiana. Dr. Shahbandar was born in Michigan and raised in Wisconsin. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, followed by residency and fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. During his training at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, he worked alongside leading experts in the field of pain management. He later contributed to physician education as part of the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he helped train residents and fellows for three years.
Known for his thoughtful bedside manner and strong procedural expertise, Dr. Shahbandar focuses on comprehensive, patient-centered care. I have always had good experiences. The only thing I do not like is that he does not have office hours anymore. I would like to talk to him when I have a problem because I have been with him for 13 years.

Dr Shahbandar is very good at what he does. He listens to you and finds a way to help you. And if that doesn't work then he tries other ways. He's the best pain doctor that I have found.
Staff was great
Very good Dr..He showed me my test results and explained to me what the procedure was going to be. Everyone at CFPC & IPM are friendly and do their job very well.
She cares about you. Works to keep you out of pain. Very sweet woman. Staff is also great
