Didier Demesmin, MD, MBA, is an interventional pain medicine physician who is board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine. He is the medical director and founder of the University Pain and Spine Center, with offices throughout New Jersey.
Dr. Demesmin earned his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he received the prestigious award for Academic Excellence in Anesthesiology. He completed an interventional pain medicine fellowship program at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons/Mount Sinai Morningside in New York City.
Dr. Demesmin is affiliated with some of the most well-respected hospitals in Central New Jersey. His affiliations include Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, JFK Medical Center, Somerset Medical Center, and Saint Peter’s University Hospital, where he is the director of pain medicine. Dr. Demesmin is a member of the Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research Institutional Review Board, where his responsibilities involve protecting the rights and welfare of patients involved in clinical research. He is also a member of the Saint Peter’s University Cancer Committee and aspires to develop a palliative care program at Saint Peter’s University Hospital.
Dr. Demesmin has lectured and conducted poster presentations internationally. His travels have taken him to the Italian Minimally Invasive Spine Conference in Rome, Italy, and the International Intradiscal Therapy Society in Toulouse, France, among other prestigious institutions. Dr. Demesmin also lectured and performed a live, minimally invasive discectomy as part of a seminar in Brazil. He has been a preceptor to college students, medical students, residents, and pain medicine fellows.

Dr. Brendan O’Donovan is a board certified Anesthesiologist and fellowship trained interventional pain physician. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures for painful conditions of the cervical/thoracic/lumbar spine, peripheral joints, peripheral nerves and more.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University at Buffalo. He then went on to graduate from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed an Anesthesiology residency and Pain Medicine fellowship at the University of Massachusetts- Baystate Health. Here, Dr. O’Donovan excelled both clinically and academically and scored in the top 10% in the country on his Anesthesiology board exam.
Dr. O’Donovan treats a wide array of conditions including neck pain, lower back pain, sciatica, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, failed back surgical syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, headaches, arthritis, compression fractures and more. He is a compassionate physician and treats all of his patients like his own family. He is active in the medical community and attends pain conferences both locally and nationally. He is an active member of multiple societies including the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience, the North American Neuromodulation Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr. Starkman, the leading Neurologist in NYC, is the Medical Director and founder of New York Neurology Associates. He is Board Certified in Neurology with a subspecialty certification in Pain Medicine. Dr. Starkman is an Active Member of American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society, and American Society of Neuroimaging. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University Medical Center, and a Clinical Attending at Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Starkman was trained at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Medical Center and has been practicing Neurology and Pain Medicine since 1996. He has implemented many new cutting edge approved therapies for various neurological and chronic painful conditions in his practice. Dr. Starkman was one of the pioneers who started to use Botox in chronic pain management, and one of the first doctors in New York who started to use radiofrequency ablation treatment for chronic spine joints pain. He was also one of the first 67 Neurologists in the USA who were trained and became Board certified in the subspecialty of Pain Medicine and has remained one of 31 such specialists in New York State as of 2014.
