Dr. Caryn McAllister earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut in 1995, Doctorate from Simmons College in 2012 and Harvard Certification in Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching from Harvard University in 2025. Dr. McAllister started her career at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and quickly began working in homecare in 1996, the same year she developed a brain tumor that required brain surgery. Caryn’s personal and professional experiences motivated her to provide a better environment for people to achieve optimal health & wellness.

A specialist in movement, orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, Dr. McAllister’s passions lie in management of complex medical conditions, pain management, pelvic floor rehab, spasticity, headache, clinical research, medical advocacy, EDS and other connective tissue disorders and mental health. A consultant for pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, clinical research sites and lawyers, Dr. McAllister has assisted in clinical trial protocol development, training for medical doctors and researchers, physical therapy conduction within global studies and has presented at globla, national and local professional conferences on EDS, spasticity, headache, mindfulness, PT for mental health, collaborative care and the role of rehab in hospice and palliative care.

A member of the Greater National Advocates, Dr. Caryn McAllister is a fierce advocate for health care rights and believes that healthcare is a right not a luxury.  In 2016 Dr. McAllister founded HQHT Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the most in need, where she incorporates her passion for art into increasing access.

Jennifer Barstrom, DPT has been a valued member of the High Quality Home Therapy team since 2015. With years of experience and a strong clinical foundation, Jennifer is known for her ability to work with individuals of all ages and diagnoses, bringing a thoughtful and adaptable approach to each patient she serves.

Jennifer has a unique ability to navigate complex medical conditions with confidence and clarity. She provides care that is both comprehensive and individualized, helping patients make meaningful progress toward their goals. Her clinical skills, combined with her calm and approachable nature, allow her to build strong connections with those she works with and create a supportive and effective therapeutic environment.

She has experience in both pediatric and geriatric therapy, allowing her to support individuals across the lifespan. Jennifer works with patients throughout the Southbury, Brookfield, and Danbury areas of Connecticut, providing high quality care directly in their homes and communities.

Outside of her clinical work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also a physical therapist, and their four children.

Michelle brings over 24 years of experience in physical therapy to High Quality Home Therapy, having built an extraordinary career within the Yale New Haven Health System. Throughout her time there she served in progressively senior roles, including Assistant Manager overseeing three rehabilitation locations, Clinical Supervisor for the Oncology and Medical/Surgical service lines, and Level II Physical Therapist, contributing to both clinical excellence and departmental growth through personal example and strong leadership.

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont in 2000, building the foundation for a career defined by clinical skill, mentorship, and continuous learning.

Her clinical experience spans oncology, medical and surgical care, orthopedics, pediatrics, and home health, having worked across multiple hospital systems including Yale New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, New England Home Care, and Haven Health Center. She has led major departmental initiatives, including a hospital wide clinical redesign project that improved patient discharge efficiency, and played a key role in developing the Post COVID Recovery Program and its accompanying exercise protocols.

Michelle has also dedicated much of her career to education and mentorship, serving as a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education, training clinical instructors, and mentoring countless physical therapy students and new team members throughout her career. She holds credentials as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor and is CPR certified, and remains an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association's Oncology and Acute Care sections.

Michelle's ability to lead through some of healthcare's most challenging moments, including guiding her team through the COVID-19 pandemic, speaks to her steady, compassionate leadership style. She is proud to bring her wealth of experience, mentorship, and heart to the HQHT team.

Rebecca Passante, DPT has been a valued member of the High Quality Home Therapy team since 2015. She earned her degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut and brings decades of experience to her work, supporting individuals with a wide range of needs.

Rebecca works with both neurological and orthopedic patients, providing comprehensive care that focuses on improving strength, mobility, and overall function. She is skilled in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and strength and conditioning, helping patients build confidence and achieve meaningful progress in their recovery.

Rebecca provides services throughout the Branford to Guilford areas of Connecticut, delivering personalized care directly in patients’ homes. She takes a hands on and results driven approach, meeting each individual where they are and guiding them toward reaching their highest level of independence and performance.

Known for her energy, dedication, and ability to push her patients toward success, Rebecca creates an environment that is both supportive and motivating. Her commitment to excellence and her passion for helping others make her an integral part of the HQHT team.

Outside of her clinical work, Rebecca lives in Madison, Connecticut and is a proud mother of six children. She brings the same level of dedication and care to her family life as she does to her work with patients.
