Nathan R. Ramirez, PsyD, is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist specializing in sport-related (SRC)/non-sport-related concussion. His training started by obtaining his doctorate in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). He then completed his pre-doctoral internship at Cox Health Medical Center and Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO and went on to complete his post-doctoral fellowship specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of concussion/mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Sports Medicine Concussion Program.
Mr. Mercer, LPA, MA is the Director of Mental Wellness at Aptiva and is licensed as a Psychological Associate in Kentucky, where he began practicing in 1999 after obtaining his master’s in clinical psychology from Spalding University. He, and Aptiva’s Mental Wellness department, practice a scientific-practitioner model that employs scientific principles and evidence-based best practices. Since 1999, Mr. Mercer has worked as a Treatment Director for the Department of Juvenile Justice, worked part-time for Kentucky Correctional Penitentiary, private practice, Seven Counties, and the Brook Hospital.
At the Brook Hospital, he was involved in a multidisciplinary treatment team for patients in crisis. He has a broad range of experience working with children, youth, and adults such as those with brain injuries, behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive, mood regulation disorders, issues with relationships, sex and substance addiction, and more.
