Dr. Monica Sandhu is triple board certified in allergy and immunology, obesity medicine, and internal medicine. Dr. Sandhu grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and received her undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She earned her medical degree at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio, and then went on to complete her internal medicine residency and allergy and immunology fellowship at University Hospitals in Cleveland. Dr. Sandhu completed her obesity medicine fellowship in 2024. She has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Charles Song brings extensive medical experience to his practice, Song Institute of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in Manhattan Beach, California. After receiving his medical degree from Northwestern Medical School, Dr. Song completed his residency at the University of Southern California, County Medical Center. Dr. Funkhouser serves as partner and consulting physician of Integrative Health Matters. Dr. Funkhouser attended Medical School and Graduate School at the University of New Mexico. He graduated with a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biomedical Sciences, concentrating in gene regulation and immunogenetics, in 1998. He graduated with his MD the following year. His research interests are in gene regulation and cytokine response in allergic and autoimmune disease. He trained in and later taught Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) in El Paso, TX. Dr. Funkhouser completed a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and the National Institutes of Health, in Washington DC. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). He is board endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Patricia Gomez Dinger, DO, is a board-certified allergist with her own private practice – Advanced Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology Center PA - Dr. Patricia Gomez Dinger – in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio and Schertz, Texas.

She is a native Texan who completed her undergraduate training at The University of Texas at Austin. She attended medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Long Island, New York. She chose a career path toward allergy by first completing a three-year internal medicine residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While a resident, she received several awards for her research on the effects of beta-blockers on patients with asthma and COPD. During this time, she also presented on the national level a new subclass of atypical acquired cold urticaria. Having several family members who suffered from allergies, Dr. Gomez Dinger was drawn to further study the specialty of allergy and immunology. She went on to complete a two-year subspecialty fellowship in the field of allergy and immunology at Kaiser Permanente Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. In 2008, Dr. Gomez Dinger’s research on the relationship of long-acting beta-agonists to asthma morbidity and mortality was selected as a featured poster for presentation at the National Meeting of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, & Immunology.

Upon completion of fellowship training, Dr. Gomez Dinger returned to San Antonio with her family and, in 2010, started the Advanced Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Center. Rao S. Botta, MD, is an allergy and immunology specialist and an integral member of the team at the Asthma, Allergy, & Immunology Center, which has locations in Flint, Midland, and Owasso, Michigan. He takes great pride in assisting patients to reach new heights in health and wellness. 

Dr. Botta earned his medical degree from Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India. Upon arriving in the United States, he completed an internship and residency at Hurley Medical Center – Graduate Medical Education and Research in Flint, Michigan, and fellowship training at the University of Iowa Healthcare in Iowa City. 

Among Dr. Botta’s areas of expertise are treating aspirin and other medicine desensitization, as well as bullous skin disorders, a rare type of autoimmune skin disease. Hussein Azzam, MD, is a board-certified allergy and immunology physician at Asthma, Allergy, & Immunology Center, serving people of all ages at two locations in Livonia and Lathrup Village, Michigan. 

Dr. Azzam was born and raised in Syria. He earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Damascus, Syria, and moved to the United States shortly thereafter. 

Before entering private practice, Dr. Azzam completed a pediatric residency at St. Joseph Mercy and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He also participated in a fellowship in allergy, asthma, and clinical immunology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Frick has been practicing allergy and immunology since 1988.  He completed his undergraduate work at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale, graduating with highest honors. He attended medical school at Southern Illinois University where he received his doctorate degree.  Upon graduating from medical school he completed a pediatric residency at University of Missouri - Columbia in 1986 and subsequently a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1988.  He was certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology in 1989 and is an active member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology.  The scope of his practice spans all areas of adult and pediatric allergic disorders including asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis, alpha gal, eczema, hives, drug allergy, stinging insect allergy, and use of biologics for a variety of conditions.  His special interests include asthma, cough, hay fever, immunotherapy (allergy shots), hives, and food allergy.  In addition to medicine, Dr. Frick enjoys family, traveling, pickleball, astronomy, and landscaping.

Dr. Hamid is a lifelong Jayhawk who grew up in Lawrence, KS. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a minor in psychology with highest distinction at the University of Kansas. She traveled east down I-70 to Kansas City, where she earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She then completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Allergy and Immunology, also at KU.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She has been published in leading allergy journals including Allergy and Asthma Proceedings, and has presented at national conferences. She has also participated in committees through the ACAAI.

She is excited to take care of patients of all ages in her hometown and enjoys all aspects of Allergy and Immunology for the opportunity to help patients improve upon their quality of life. She hopes to spread awareness about the management of allergic and atopic disease. Outside of medicine, she enjoys being outdoors in the sunshine, spending time with family and friends, exploring restaurants, bakeries, and local coffee shops in the area, being an amateur barista, and can be found cheering on the Jayhawks.

Roberto Sirven was born in Cuba and migrated to the US as a child. He graduated High School at Miami Sr. High School and went to the University of Miami as a pre-med student. He received a medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Centro America. Roberto later pursued a Masters in Nurse Practitioner at Florida International University and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Roberto joined Sirven and Associates in 2013 where he and Dr. Viviana Sirven take pride in tailoring patient care to both pediatric and adult population.

Born and raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Wong was a three-sport athlete and musician in high-school.  He moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to study Computer Science and Biological Sciences at the University of Southern California.  After graduating from the Keck School of Medicine at USC, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the LAC+USC Medical Center, and he was honored as Senior Resident of the Year during his final year.  After residency, Dr. Wong stayed at LAC+USC for his fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology.

On a personal note, Dr. Wong is married to his high-school sweetheart, Lindsay.  They spend their spare time with their two daughters and miniature dachshund.  When they are not taxiing the kids to soccer and ninja warrior practice, they enjoy hiking, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.

Dr. Wong takes a very personal approach to his patient care, developing a close rapport with all his patients in this small boutique-style practice.  His training at the Los Angeles County Hospital has made him an extremely thorough and experienced physician, providing the highest quality evidence-based treatment.  He is especially adept at the management of difficult-to-treat asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, and sinus disease.  He is also well-versed in the most current literature and treatment guidelines for food allergies, drug allergies, immunodeficiencies, urticaria, contact dermatitis, and other skin allergies.
