Meet Dr. Ianthe Dunn-Murad, a seasoned Audiologist with more than 25 years of clinical experience. Fluent in both English and Spanish, and originally from Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Dunn-Murad brings a unique perspective and skill set to her practice, enabling her to reach and serve diverse communities effectively.
With a distinguished career spanning hospital, clinic, and university settings, her passion lies in empowering individuals through better hearing. Her clinical expertise is evident in her meticulous approach to diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs.
Dr. Dunn-Murad's educational foundation began at St. John's University in Queens, NY. In 2002 she graduated at the top of her class from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, it was there that she honed her expertise in audiology and hearing healthcare. Armed with a deep understanding of the field and a passion for making a difference, she embarked on a career that would see her touch countless lives.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Dunn-Murad is an advocate for humanitarian hearing healthcare, locally and globally. Contributing her professional services to local communities in the Long Island and Queens areas and to over 20 countries. She firmly believes that access to quality hearing healthcare is a fundamental right and has dedicated herself to initiatives aimed at improving access to care in underserved and underrepresented local communities and around the world.
Her impact extends beyond her clinical practice and advocacy efforts. As an educator, she has mentored and inspired the next generation of audiologists, instilling in them the same passion and dedication that drives her work. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous accolades and awards, but her greatest reward is the countless lives she has touched and transformed through her work.

JJ Martinez was born in Wichita, Kansas, and grew up in a Marine Corps family. Following in his father’s footsteps, he joined the Marine Corps after high school and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Southeastern Louisiana University, he earned his Doctor of Audiology degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Shortly after, he became board certified in audiology and began his professional career.
Today, as Director of Audiology at SLENT, JJ leads the department in meeting the hearing and balance needs of the community. He collaborates with other department heads to ensure patients receive well-rounded care, sets clinical goals, and identifies opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.
Outside of work, JJ enjoys fishing, cooking, working out, gardening, woodworking, and camping with family and friends

Dr. Skye Gregory-Hatch is a licensed audiologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. Skye provides comprehensive audiological evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment options, including hearing aids, tinnitus management, and other assistive listening devices.
Skye has a passion for communication and repairing communication. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and communication studies from Grand Valley State University and then completed an additional year of coursework in communication sciences and disorders. After taking two years off of school to work with geriatrics in the assisted living setting, Skye returned to Grand Valley State University to earn her Doctorate of Audiology. After graduation, Skye completed additional training to become a certificate holder of tinnitus management (CH-TM).
Since graduation, Skye has worked in private practice, hearing aid manufacturing, and now with ear nose and throat specialists. Her special interests include tinnitus, Ménière’s disease, and hearing loss as a result of ototoxicity.

Dr. Valerie Brickner has been an audiologist for over 11 years and has experience in several different audiology settings. She has worked with Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists in the past and also private practice, manufacturing, and the Veteran’s Administration.
She is a native to Michigan and grew up in a small town near Mt. Pleasant. She first became interested in hearing impairment because of her father. He has had a hearing loss for most of his life. Growing up around him and seeing his struggles with hearing loss has given Valerie a special love for her profession. She strives to treat every patient as she would want someone to treat her father.
She earned her degree at Central Michigan University. For her final year of graduate school, she did an internship in San Antonio, TX. Following graduation, she decided to stay in Texas in the Austin area for a few more years. Valerie then decided to move back to Michigan to be closer to her family again. She proudly served our nations veterans at the Veteran’s Administration for 4 years before decided to work back in the private sector.

Dr. Maguatte Mbengue grew up in Leominster, MA. Dr. Mbengue obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and Doctorate in Audiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. While getting her education, she worked as a nurse's assistant and childcare provider. Inspired by the experiences of her co-workers in nursing facilities, she created a study tool for home care workers to learn more about hearing loss and how to care for their client’s hearing aids.
At her 1-year residency at Rhode Island Hospital, she took part in Leadership Education Neurodevelopmental and other related Disabilities (LEND) and worked with a variety of health care professionals to become leaders in their fields and advocates for patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities and differences. She further gained experience providing audiological care for neurodivergent children and working with ethnically, linguistically, and culturally diverse patient populations in the city of Providence. Dr. Mbengue enjoys spending her free time drawing, baking, and learning different languages. Dr. Mbengue mostly enjoys diagnostic testing and vestibular audiology in her career field.

A native of Loranger, Louisiana, Jeni Dunnington earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Southeastern Louisiana University and her Doctor of Audiology degree at Louisiana Tech University.
At SLENT Hearing and Balance Center, she evaluates, treats, and counsels patients with hearing and balance disorders. She prescribes hearing instruments for hearing loss and tinnitus and provides treatment for common balance conditions.
Jeni takes great pride in offering comprehensive care and describes her team as “family.” For her, success comes when patients rediscover sounds and connections they thought were lost—especially when those initially hesitant to seek help leave wondering how they ever lived without treatment.
When she is not with patients, Jeni spends time with her husband, John, their daughter, Marae, and their puppy, Cider. They enjoy weekends at family camp and boating. She also shares her expertise by teaching at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Rachel Fitzmorris was born in Kenner, Louisiana, and has lived on the Northshore for more than a decade. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and her Doctor of Audiology degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She completed her externship at Creel Hearing Center and has worked in several audiology and ENT practices in the greater New Orleans area.
For the past 13 years, Rachel served as lead audiologist at Ochsner Covington Clinic. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and now provides care at SLENT for both pediatric and adult patients. Her services include diagnostic hearing evaluations, custom hearing protection, hearing aids, and evaluation and treatment of vertigo.
Rachel is passionate about educating patients on the impact of hearing loss and empowering them to take control of their hearing health. She lives in Covington with her children and enjoys outdoor activities, family time, and community involvement.

Originally from a small town near Houma, Louisiana, Marissa Corneille earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University and her Doctor of Audiology degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She completed her clinical externship year at SLENT and has held internships in Hawaii, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans.
Marissa is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the Louisiana Academy of Audiology. She has also contributed research on school-based hearing screenings for publication in the American Journal of Audiology.
At SLENT, Marissa provides diagnostic hearing and balance services at the Mandeville and Slidell offices. She is dedicated to improving communication and quality of life for her patients.
