Shahnaz Begum, MD, FACC, is a Board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist. She is an experienced physician who has been practicing cardiology for over 15 years. 

Dr. Begum received her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical College in New York. She subsequently completed 3 years of training in Internal Medicine followed by another 3 years of specialized training in Cardiovascular disease/cardiology. She then worked at SUNY Downstate as a faculty physician and Assistant Professor of Cardiology until she moved to Dallas. After that she worked at Texas Health Resource and Plano Presbyterian Hospital for several years as an attending Cardiologist. Since then, she has been providing outstanding cardiac care at Heart Care located in Frisco, Texas. 

Dr. Begum has exceptional knowledge and skills. She excels in diagnosing and treating heart conditions including heart failure, coronary artery disease (CAD), valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, and many more. She also believes in prevention and therefore focuses on hypertension, cholesterol and multiple other conditions that can lead to heart diseases.

Dr. Vikas Jindal brings his expertise in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease to the team at HeartPlace Baylor Heart & Vascular Hospital. He welcomes new patients and continues to provide compassionate, individualized care to current patients at his office in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Jindal offers comprehensive cardiovascular care with expert diagnosis and management of chronic conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol and provides advanced intervention to treat arrhythmias and repair cardiovascular disease.

After receiving his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Jindal relocated to Rochester, New York, for residency training in internal medicine at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital. He also completed fellowship training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of Rochester. Over the course of his medical training, Dr. Jindal has published in The Journal of Clinical Hypertension and presented numerous studies at professional cardiovascular conferences.

This research considered the value of pelvic/cervical spine films, and outcomes in various patient populations, including the obese and the diabetic patient. “The Role and Influence of Plain Films and Patient Demographics on Outcomes in the Trauma Bay." 2006.

 

• Brown WR. Worked with Dr. J. Feher to complete a thesis in physiology research. “Continuous Chemiluminescent Measurement of Superoxide in Intact Rat Hearts During Ischemia-Reperfusion.” 2002-2003.

 

• Brown WR. As a candidate for Biology departmental honors, worked with Dr. K. Loesser to complete a thesis in biological research. In May of 2001, presented research to the Virginia Academy of Science. The work subsequently appeared in the Academy’s publication. “Vitamin E: Efficacy of Gamma-Tocopherol vs. Alpha-Tocopherol in Atherosclerosis Prevention.” 2000-2001.
