Dr. Swarup has received specialized training in performing complex arrhythmia treatments, including trans-catheter ablations. Dr. Sudarone Thihalolipavan, MD

Sundarone Thihalolipavan, MD, or Dr “T” for short, is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Arizona Heart Rhythm Center, which has locations in Phoenix, Peoria, Gilbert, and Prescott, Arizona.
Dr. T completed advanced fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. T has a particular interest in the treatment of complex arrhythmias. He has extensive training and experience in catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, premature ventricular complexes/ventricular tachycardia, left atrial appendage occlusion techniques, and other cardiac arrhythmias. He also has expertise in the implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators, and biventricular devices (cardiac resynchronization therapy).
Prior to relocating to Arizona from Little Rock, Arkansas, Dr. Thihalolipavan created one of the busiest electrophysiology practices in the country. His success there was attributed to exemplary patient care, a kind bedside manner, and excellent procedural outcomes. He was the first in the state to perform epicardial ablations and perform fluoroless (radiation-free) ablation procedures. Additionally, research and teaching are among his ongoing interests, and to date, he has peer-reviewed publications in the management of atrial fibrillation and is currently enrolled in multi-center international clinical ablation trials. Finally, he has an active consulting role with major medical device companies.
Dr. Thihalolipavan was recruited to the Arizona Heart Rhythm Center and was drawn to Arizona to be closer to family.
Dr. T was a ‘high honors’ graduate from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also served an additional year as chief resident there. While pursuing his clinical training, Dr. Thihalolipavan achieved awards for excellence in clinical and academic arenas.
Above all, Dr. Thihalolipavan believes that compassionate care begins with a patient-focused approach, as he incorporates clear and concise communication into his practice.
Dr. Thihalolipavan is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Robert Lemery joined the Arizona Heart Rhythm Center in September 2018. Before joining the Arizona Heart Rhythm Center, Dr. Lemery completed fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases and in cardiac electrophysiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and in Maastricht, Netherlands and in London, England. Dr. Lemery is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is a world-recognized leader in the field of electrophysiology, specially trained in performing complex ablation procedures and device implantation. Dr. Lemery is also a medical historian. He has a double Masters in the History of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University and from McGill University, with a particular interest in the history of cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology, and in global health.
Dr. Lemery is a dedicated clinician, academician, and researcher. Dr. Lemery has held faculty positions at a variety of prestigious universities including the University of Montreal, Brown University in Rhode Island and the University of Ottawa. He started the ablation program at Brown University in Rhode Island and more recently was a cardiac electrophysiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in ON, Canada. He has been an invited lecturer at numerous symposiums and conferences around the world. He has been involved in teaching and training of cardiac electrophysiologists in China, Thailand, Vietnam, and India.
Dr. Lemery has published extensively on pacing and interventional electrophysiology. He continues to serve on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology and the Journal Heart Rhythm. He has served as a Journal Reviewer for most of the cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology journals. Dr. Lemery recently co-authored the third edition of the book Fast Facts: Cardiac Arrhythmias. In 2015, he conducted a prospective clinical trial comparing caffeine with placebo in patients undergoing invasive electrophysiology procedures. Dr. Lemery has also been involved in clinical research on autonomics and cardiac arrhythmias. He recently conducted a clinical NIH registered study onHigh-Frequency Stimulation of autonomic cardiac ganglia and MIBG imaging.
Kristine Sellberg, MD, FACC, is an accomplished and affable cardiologist. She’s a proud member of the team of renowned physicians at Phoenix Heart, which has locations across the greater Phoenix area – Glendale, Goodyear, Anthem, Buckeye, Laveen, Cottonwood, and Black Canyon City, Arizona.
Dr. Sellberg earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. She finished her medical training in Phoenix with a residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center and the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, where she completed a second fellowship in interventional cardiology. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
In addition to her practice at Phoenix Heart, Dr. Sellberg is quite active in the cardiology community. Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Arizona, counts her as a member-at-large of their medical executive committee and a member of their professional review committee. She also serves as the medical director of cardiac rehabilitation at Abrazo West Campus hospital in Goodyear, Arizona. She’s also a member of the American Heart Association and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
