Kristin was born and raised here in Charlotte County. She graduated with honors from Florida Gulf Coast University with her BSN. After 14 years of multifaceted nursing, including emergency, trauma, ICU, maternal/child, and more, Kristin made the decision to move forward in her career by obtaining her dual certified Masters Degree with honors in Adult Gerontology and Acute Care from University of South Florida. She has now specialized in Cardiology for nearly 8 years.

Alexandra was born in Germany and moved to Port Charlotte in 1981 at the age of 12. She attended Port Charlotte Middle and High School before graduating and becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1993. She has advanced her nursing degrees over the years while working and raising her four children in Charlotte County. She has spent the majority of her nursing career, over 20 years, in ICU, before decided to further her education again and obtained her. Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree from Grand Canyon University in 2018. She is board certified and has specialized in Cardiology since graduation.

Mario Lopez, MD, F.A.C.C. began practicing as a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist after receiving the highest caliber medical training and education. For the last 35 years, Dr. Lopez has dedicated his life to Charlotte County residents by providing exceptional and compassionate care to every patient he’s come to know and love. Dr. Azad came to the practice in 2018 from the Cleveland Clinic located in Weston, Florida. During his time there, he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow and completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Azad received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University Medical School.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Adult Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.  He is also board eligible in Vascular Ultrasound and Cardiac CT.  Dr. Azad is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Azad brings many years of training and experience as a cardiologist specializing in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of all cardiac disease. His special interests include aortic disease, valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, and preventative cardiology.

James V. Talano, MD, MM, FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist and the founder of SWICFT Cardiology, serving Southwest Florida with locations in Naples, Bonita Springs, and Marco Island, Florida. He is recognized internationally in noninvasive cardiology with expertise in cardiovascular care and management.

Dr. Talano is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease (heart disease). He is the clinical director of SWICFT Cardiology and is highly experienced in his field.

He received a medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) in Maywood, Illinois. Dr. Talano completed a residency and cardiovascular fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute in Washington DC. He finished his medical training with a clinical fellowship in cardiology at Tufts University Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Talano also holds a master’s degree in management from the Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, Illinois. He is a retired Major in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corp. 

Dr. Talano is the author of over 150 original articles, chapters, and reviews. He served as the chief of cardiology and lassen professor of medicine at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was also a director of cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Naples.

Dr. Talano held the position of director of cardiology graphics and chief of clinical cardiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Lester B. Knight professor of medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Lakeside Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago.

Dr. Talano maintains his medical credentials with continuing education to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association and serves on the Council of Clinical Cardiology. 

Dr. Talano was the president of Collier County Medical Society, chairman of the Emergency Medical Services Board for Collier County, and head of the Institutional Review Board for Naples Community Hospital.

Dr. Baily has joined us from Pinnacle Health Cardiovascular Institute located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois where he originally met and trained under Dr. Talano.  Dr. Baily completed his Residency and Fellowship, Research Fellowship and Chief Fellowship training at Penn State University Hospital in Hershey, Pennsylvania and his teaching appointments include the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State University Hospital.

After completing his training he was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology and has published several peer reviewed articles in the field of integrative physiology during his tenure at the Pennsylvania State University Hospital.  He later served as the Chief of Cardiology, Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania for more than a decade and was also elected Chairman of the Medical Executive Board for Holy Spirit Hospital.
Dr. Baily is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology and a member of the American Society of Echocardiography.
