Dr. Wayne Higashi, DC, ATC, is a certified athletic trainer and chiropractor in the Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, California, offices of Health Atlast, a multidisciplinary health care franchise that he launched with his wife, Stephanie Higashi, DC, in 2012. With more than 20 years of experience, Wayne Higashi’s primary goal is to give every patient the comprehensive individualized care they deserve.

After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Dr. Higashi enrolled in the Southern California University of Health Sciences’ chiropractic medicine doctoral program in Whittier, California, which he completed in 2000. Since then, Dr. Higashi has made it his top priority to build a practice that caters to every patient’s unique needs. This means listening to his patients’ concerns with open ears, analyzing their medical history, and performing thorough exams to get to the root of the problem.

Raised in a family of doctors, Magdy S. Guirguis was always destined to be in the medical field. After years as a high school and college athlete and a 35-year career in volleyball as a player and a coach, Dr. Guirguis sustained many injuries, inspiring him to delve into the healing arts. His interest stemmed from his desire not only to relieve the pain but also to practice healthiness in his daily life.

Shortly after graduating from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles in 1988, Dr. Guirguis founded Advanced Chiropractic Center in 1991. Miwa Yoshida, DC, is an experienced chiropractor and center director at Health Advantage Physical Medicine in Pasadena, California. She started her career as a rugby football trainer for Kobe Steelers (10 times Japanese national champion) and loves to study sports injury and training techniques. 

Dr. Yoshida has helped train and treat boxing champions and served as a team doctor for the professional basketball team in Japan. She has dedicated her life to learning holistic medicine practices, including acupuncture and chiropractic. 

In 1989, Dr. Yoshia graduated from the Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in San Francisco, California. In 1999, she graduated from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic School in California. Dr. Yoshia was an instructor at the Southern California University of Health Sciences in Whittier, California, and supervising doctor/clinician for ten years. 

In 2009, Dr. Yoshia co-founded the Health Advantage Health & Wellness Center. And in 2015, she co-founded Health Advantage Physical Medicine. Her knowledge of Eastern and Western medicine, nutrition, supplementation, and sports injury has helped many patients with challenging conditions.

Dr. Yoshida enjoys skiing and snowboarding. She used to be a gymnast and figure skater and has been very active her entire life, including playing soccer. She has four boys who are involved in karate and soccer.

Dennis Buckley, DC, is an experienced chiropractor and clinical director at Health Advantage Physical Medicine in Pasadena, California.

In 1993, Dr. Buckley graduated with honors from Southern California University of Health Sciences, Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in Whittier, California. 

After graduating, he started practicing in Pasadena and worked with Dr. Michael Budincich for 11 years. Dr. Buckley moved to the new Los Angeles College of Chiropractic Pasadena clinic and worked as a private practitioner and clinician. 

In March 2009, he started The Health Advantage Health and Wellness Center. In January 2015, the Health Advantage Health and Wellness Center evolved into Health Advantage Physical Medicine. 

Dr. Buckley’s passion as a chiropractor extends beyond the clinic. He has served his profession at the local level up to the state level, and from 2004 to 2005, he was president of The California Chiropractic Association. He has served locally as the Chairman of the Board of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Buckley is married and has two “extra sons” and a daughter who serves in the United States Navy. He is from Downey, California, and is a third-generation Southern California native. 

Dr. Buckley has run three marathons. He loves to play golf, walk, read, and is a closet history buff. He loves spending time with his family, and he and his wife, Brenda, serve on the Marriage Matters ministry at their church, where they also chair the Marriage Mentor program.

Dr. Buckley mentors students from high school to graduate school and has made a study of success. He has authored two books, “Student Chiropractors On Road to Excellence” and “The Hole In Your Diploma”. He is working on his third book, “The Hole In Your Practice,” which should be out this summer.

Kimberly began her career in Occupational Therapy when her father had a stroke in 2005. It began as a mission to help her father but she realized she had a passion for helping people regain their independence. In 2007, Kimberly achieved her Masters of Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California. In addition to being a licensed Occupational Therapist, Kimberly is also a certified yoga instructor. Her father remains her most powerful inspiration.

Victor is an Occupational Therapist and a Certified Hand Therapist. He graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2009 and attended Loma Linda University where he earned his Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.  He enjoys rock climbing, weight lifting and playing bass guitar.  Even though he loves rocking out and funkifying a solid bassline, he is always looking to push the boundaries of patient care.  He likes to keep things simple while reassessing frequently to ensure utilization of the most effective treatment modalities available.

Dr. Jeff Deatherage received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Life University near Atlanta, GA. 

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Deatherage has helped thousands of patients throughout the United States, China, Singapore, and the Philippines. He specializes in Diversified Technique, Thompson Technique, Activator Methods, Graston soft tissue mobilization, and ART (Active Release Technique). 

In his free time, Dr. Deatherage enjoys traveling, yoga, working out, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family.
