Dr. Chelsey Wooten joined the Counseling team at Post Trauma Institute January 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of the Arts in Sociology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, in 2014. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling where she specialized in Forensic Psychology from Adler University located in Chicago, IL in 2017. Dr. Wooten completed her PhD in Social Work from Louisiana State University in December 2022 where she specialized in Child and Family Studies, focusing on race related issues, social traumas, PTSD, disparities within institutional and military spaces, and the impact of adverse experiences on the mental health and well-being of individuals from a holistic perspective on a micro (individual and family) and macro level. Danielle Gros began her counseling journey in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She then graduated from Nicholls State University in 2013 with a Master of the Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
She has almost 10 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked with many different populations to include adults, teens, children, those with chronic/severe mental illness as well as those struggling with addiction in a PHP/IOP setting. Her primary focus over the last five years has been as a school-based provider where she serviced three schools in Pointe Coupee parish, where she was born and raised.
As a therapist, she is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and move toward greater self-understanding, healing, and growth.
In her spare time, Danielle enjoys curling up with a good book and traveling with her husband and daughter.
