As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I believe that everyone needs a safe space and trusted person to share their personal struggles. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Queens College and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. During my final year at St. John’s University, I interned at the PAC Program of Queens. My work is grounded in the belief that the relationship between one’s inner world and outer circumstances can be both a source of struggle and a terrain for healing.

My approach is integrative, holistic, and multiculturally informed. Drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), reality therapy, and mindfulness, I tailor each session to the individual. As an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist, I am trained to support clients in processing trauma at a deeper level. I also work with couples to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and navigate relational challenges — and I serve as a clinical supervisor for emerging mental health professionals.

Holding a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from New York University and an advanced certificate in LGBT Health, Education, and Social Services, my training is complemented by hands-on experience as a residential counselor in psychiatric hospitals and group homes.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, multicultural identity, relationship issues, and LGBTQ+ experiences, with a deep commitment to creating a space where every client feels seen, respected, and empowered.

With a background as a board-certified health and wellness coach, my therapy approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, all through a holistic, person-centered philosophy. I am particularly excited to support the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities in their journeys towards optimal functioning and self understanding.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies at the College of Charleston, and am pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College at Columbia University. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York, fluent in English and Arabic. I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hofstra University, and soon after went on to earn a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY College of Old Westbury. I had the opportunity to complete a clinical internship at Rikers Island working with the incarcerated population. Working with such a complex and diverse population not only allowed me to learn the true value of therapy but, that therapy truly works best when customized to the needs of the individual.

My psychotherapeutic approach is rooted in Psychodynamic, Attachment, and Systems theory, which looks at the ways our environments, at all stages of our development, have influenced and transformed our understanding of others and self. I practice EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), along with cognitive and humanistic perspectives in an eclectic/integrative approach to facilitate these explorations of self. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Clinical Certification in Trauma Treatment from Antioch University New England. My clinical residency focused on PTSD, Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) and severe attachment injury. I have advanced training in EMDR and IFS.
