  My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral (DBT), as well as Psychodynamic therapy. My educational background includes an M.A. in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.

I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York, fluent in English and Arabic. I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hofstra University, and soon after went on to earn a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY College of Old Westbury. I had the opportunity to complete a clinical internship at Rikers Island working with the incarcerated population. Working with such a complex and diverse population not only allowed me to learn the true value of therapy but, that therapy truly works best when customized to the needs of the individual.

I aim to work with clients with the goal of creating an individualized treatment plan that helps to focus and improve on the areas of their life that may be lacking or in disarray. I have extensive experience working with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, personality disorders, mood disorders, as well as trauma and issues surrounding culture/diversity.

Prior to my residency at The Soho Center, I completed my practicum, working with a diverse range of individuals, including minorities, children, adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I provided support for issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, marital issues, substance abuse, and more. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Baruch College.

During my final year at St. John’s University, I interned at the PAC Program of Queens. During my internship, I worked with clients who struggled with substance abuse, anxiety, anger management and domestic violence.

Kathryn received her undergraduate degree with a Psychology major from C.W. Post University. Following graduation she began a career in Behavioral Analysis. After a few years of using behavioral analytical techniques with the Autistic population, she received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at New York University.
