Suresh Kumar Misra, MD, is the newest member of Anne Arundel Gastroenterology Associates, P.A., seeing patients from the offices in Bowie and Greenbelt, Maryland. He identifies with the pronouns he/his and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. 

Inspired by his grandfather’s dedication to medicine in India, Dr. Misra is passionate about listening to his patients with the goal of improving their health and quality of life. He strives to be a knowledgeable and accessible expert resource, both to his patients and to the community he serves. 

After completing his undergraduate degree at Tulane University, Dr. Misra received a Doctorate of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. He continued his training at Temple University Hospital to provide much-needed quality care to the economically distressed area of North Philadelphia. 

After obtaining his Internal Medicine Board Certification, Dr. Misra practiced as an internist for six years. The highlight of his post-graduate career was serving the diverse community of Astoria, Queens, as an ICU hospitalist and completing a one-year Hepatitis Fellowship at the Institute of Liver Medicine in the Mount Sinai Health System. The fellowship focused on hepatitis and general hepatology. Dr. Misra’s practice in New York inspired him to pursue a Gastroenterology Fellowship, which he completed at the University of Arizona in Tucson. 

His research has included the pulmonary complications of cirrhosis and the predictors of liver cancer. He has published multiple reviews on Hepatitis C and presented the results at national conferences. 

Dr. Misra values diversity, equality, integrity, and caring for others. He is currently taking new patients and is excited to serve the community of Annapolis and the Maryland area.

Veronica Kwegyir-Afful DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, is a highly experienced board-certified family and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in family medicine, military/veteran health, and psychiatric medication management, including substance use disorders. She sees patients at KAVN Health, located in Columbia, Maryland. 

Veronica is a compassionate and understanding provider who excels in developing personalized treatment plans for patients with chronic medical and psychiatric conditions. She has exceptional skills as an assertive listener and communicator, making her an effective mental health worker. Her passion for helping active-duty military members/families and veterans with mental health needs led her to pursue a second certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Veronica holds a doctorate degree from the University of New Hampshire, a post-graduate certificate in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Liberty University, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a family nurse practitioner, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Walden University.

When she is not working, Veronica enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and watching movies.

Dr. Martha Maturi is a Medical Doctor in Fairfax, VA and has been practicing for 36 years. She graduated from Boston University School Of Medicine in 1980 and specializes Primary Care Internal Medicine.

She has been a practicing NP since 2005 who provides primary care for ages 14 and up. Her background includes working as a charge nurse in a 28-bed Intensive Care Unit, private internal medicine practice for ten years, skilled nursing, rehab and assisted living facilities.  Jill has a passion for caring for the elderly population and aiding her patients during end-of-life. She is a Certified Gerontological Specialist (GS-C). Her services include providing primary care via Telehealth and in-person to homebound patients and to patients living in assisted living communities. Jill delivers quality and compassionate care to her patients. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and her Masters Degree in Nursing from the collaborative program of George Mason University and GW School of Medicine.
