Mohan L. Gupta, MD, is a board-certified internist who serves the sunny communities of Sunrise and Davie, Florida, at Americare Medical Center. A native of India, Dr. Gupta attended Sawai Mansingh Medical College in Jaipur for medical school and completed a rotating internship after graduating in 1979. In 1980, Dr. Gupta relocated to the U.S., where he passed the New Jersey Licensing Exam (FLEX) on his first attempt. For the next three years, Dr. Gupta immersed himself in a competitive internal medicine residency at St. Francis Medical Center in New Jersey.
Dr. Gupta has actively run his own practice in Sunrise since 1983. Along with his longtime wife and their dedicated nurse practitioner, he and his team offer a number of in-house services, from routine vaccinations to more complex tests, such as pulmonary function tests and treadmill stress tests. He is actively involved in his patients’ individualized care plans and truly takes the time to address their concerns and answer questions.
In addition to running Americare Medical Center, Dr. Gupta is affiliated with the Florida Medical Center, the Broward General Medical Center, the Plantation General Medical Center, and The Westside Regional Medical Center. Meliana Trinidad, MD, is board-certified in neurology and internal medicine. She works with patients at The Neurology Institute in Coral Springs and Sunrise, Florida. Dr. Israel Galtes is a skilled cardiologist practicing at the Cardiovascular Wellness Center in Homestead, Florida.
Dr. Galtes was born in Havana, Cuba, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Havana School of Medicine. Early in his education, he paid close attention to the importance of history taking and physical examination, as technological resources were scarce at that time. His professors rapidly infused him with the philosophy of devoted patient care and true concern for the ill.
He graduated with honors and was selected to participate in the Talent Program, a selected group of doctors who, based on their accomplishments, were granted the subspecialty of their choice at a time when this was a great privilege. Dr. Galtes was planning to enter his cardiology training then.
Despite this, Dr. Galtes decided to emigrate to the US and, after sitting for the medical board examinations, started training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, where he specialized in Internal Medicine. During his residency, he received the Best Intern Award as well as the Alfred Pick Award for Academic Excellence.
He continued his training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, where he completed his Cardiology Fellowship. Later, he dedicated a year to Interventional Cardiology training.
Dr. Galtes truly believes in up to date knowledge of the advances in cardiovascular medicine as a way to provide optimal patient care. He mentors medical students and residents and assists to most major cardiovascular conferences yearly.

Gershwin Blyden, MD, PhD, FCP, FACP, is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist and medical director of The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research, with locations in Homestead, Orlando, Lakeland, Jacksonville, Belle Glade, Tallahassee, and Hollywood, Florida. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in plant science from the Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) in Tuskegee, Alabama, in 1967, Dr. Blyden earned a PhD in pharmacology from prestigious Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1976. Just three years later, he also earned his medical doctorate cum laude from Yale University.
In 1985, Dr. Blyden completed an internal medicine internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. That same year, he also finished his hematology/oncology and clinical pharmacology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
After graduating and completing his training, Dr. Blyden worked as an adjunct professor for the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida, an associate clinical professor of hematology and oncology at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, and as an associate professor of clinical pharmacy and director of the Clinical Pharmacology Research Unit at Florida A&M University’s Miami location.
