With a background as a board-certified health and wellness coach, my therapy approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, all through a holistic, person-centered philosophy. I am particularly excited to support the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities in their journeys towards optimal functioning and self understanding.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies at the College of Charleston, and am pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College at Columbia University. I have worked with a diverse range of clients with both mental and physical health conditions, at every age and phase of life.

Once we have built a foundation, we can then begin incorporating coping skills and utilizing therapeutic interventions tailored to you as an individual.

The three clinical directors and many of our supervisors are also professors at New York University, teaching Mental Health Counseling to the next generation of therapists.   We serve as an clinical supervision center for pre-licensed and newly licensed professionals. I am a Brooklyn native and senior psychotherapist who is proficient in working with clients to broaden their awareness of themselves, their thoughts, and their feelings. My primary goals are to: provide counseling through a sex positive and inclusive framework and provide a therapeutic space that is non-judgmental, authentic, respectful, and collaborative. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s degree in Mental Health & Counseling at Hofstra University. I have always been passionate about helping others and have been in the field of psychology for over 7 years. As a clinician, I work with adolescents and adults who have experienced or are living life with trauma, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, mood disturbances, and/or grief.

I offer therapy that is largely rooted in trauma-informed, person-centered, and evidence-based approaches. I specialize in Eye-movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based approach effective in treating: anger, emotional eating, procrastination/avoidance behaviors/indecision, relationship enrichment/healing, and stress management to name a few.

  My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral (DBT), as well as Psychodynamic therapy. However, I pull from many modalities to provide personalized care for each unique individual. My educational background includes an M.A. in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I believe that everyone needs a safe space and trusted person to share their personal struggles. My style of counseling focuses on the counselor client relationship. Using person centered approaches, I provide a safe space, where we as counselor and client develop a rapport, so you feel heard and understood. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Queens College and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. During my final year at St. John’s University, I interned at the PAC Program of Queens. During my internship, I worked with clients who struggled with substance abuse, anxiety, anger management and domestic violence.

Anastasios Manessis, MD, FACE, ECNU, ABOM, is a double-board certified physician at  Endocrine Associates of West Village PC in Murray Hill, Manhattan, and Long Island City, New York, specializing in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism and obesity medicine. Dr. Manessis has an endocrine certification in neck ultrasounds and has extensive experience in diagnosing, treating, and managing endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, hormonal dysfunction, and obesity.  

Dr. Manessis pursued his undergraduate education at Manhattan College, graduating magna cum laude with distinction in biochemistry. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Manessis completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at New York Medical College at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in New York. Following a year as chief medical resident, he completed a two-year clinical fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, where his research interest, among others, involved the use of insulin pumps in patients with Type II diabetes. 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Manessis was a faculty member in the Department of Medicine at New York Medical College from 2008-2010. He then joined the faculty of New York University in 2011. He has been involved in many clinical research projects, including long-term studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GLP-I agonists and weight loss agents. Dr. Manessis’ primary clinical interest includes the treatment of diabetic patients with insulin pumps and how it has benefited the well-being of patients long-term.

Henock Saint-Jacques, MD, FACC, is a distinguished cardiologist and head clinician at Harlem Cardiology on Madison Avenue in East Harlem of New York City. Dr. Saint-Jacques is held in high esteem throughout New York City and is a deservedly popular speaker at medical conferences and meetings. He also mentors medical students and postgraduate fellows.

Dr. Saint-Jacques studied for his medical degree at Universidad de Ciencias Medicas (UCIMED) in San Jose, Costa Rica. After graduating, he relocated to New York City for a residency in internal medicine at Cabrini Medical Center, which he completed in 1998, followed by a fellowship in cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute in Canada. After completing his fellowship in 2001, Dr. Saint-Jacques studied at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, and achieved cardiovascular disease certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2003.

Deborah is a relational psychotherapist who works with individuals and couples in an attuned and compassionate manner. She is especially interested in helping people to heal from anxiety, depression, and grief; to recover from trauma (recent or long ago); to navigate complex relationships, ADHD, or the numerous challenges and transitions at all stages of life. She has specialized training in EMDR for trauma and mindfulness approaches for anxiety and depression.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Deborah practiced as a family law attorney, working with those struggling with family dissolution, domestic violence, and emotional strain. She also has worked in education, in the theater as an actor and director, and as a journalist for ABC News. In addition, Deborah is the mother of four “young adult” children. Deborah sees each of these professional and personal paths as having intertwined throughout her life, ultimately enabling her to become the therapist she is today. Whether her clients are facing difficult transitions, trying to reconnect with themselves, or struggling with relationships or stress, Deborah integrates various treatment modalities to help them navigate their challenges, develop clarity and move towards greater happiness.
