Dr. Groysman completed his medical school training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. He finished his internship training in family medicine. He was then attracted to anesthesiology after witnessing pain relief of an epidural for his wife during her labor. He enrolled in an anesthesiology residency at Robert Wood Johnson University hospital in New Brunswick New Jersey.
