 Dr. Zia Ahmadzada completed his undergraduate education at the University of New York at Albany in 1997. He then went on to receive, in 2002, a doctorate of dental medicine (DMD) at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the oldest dental schools in the United States. As the second largest dental school in America, with a class size of approximately 190 students each, it has an excellent reputation, and it is renowned as a center for academic and clinical excellence. While at Tufts, Dr. Ahmadzada was recognized for attaining the Dean’s list for outstanding achievement and high performance on the National Board of Dentistry. He was also awarded an Endowed Prize Award for Ethics. A native of The Woodlands and proud graduate of the John Cooper School, David Epstein, DDS — a general and cosmetic dentist and sleep apnea specialist — is happy to call Texas his home once again. He is currently practicing at David B. Epstein, DDS and Nikita Vakil, DMD, in Spring, Texas.

Dr. Epstein left Texas to attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he completed a BS in neuroscience. After college, while he was trying to decide what to do with his career, he spent a few days at Woodlands Dental Group observing Dr. David Ryder.

That experience seeing the day-to-day professional experiences of a dentist inspired him to go to dental school, beginning a path that eventually led right back to Woodlands Dental Group.  Dr. Epstein grew his passion for dentistry at the State University of New York in Buffalo.

While he was a dental student, Dr. Epstein volunteered in the Dominican Republic as well as Appalachia, two parts of the world where many people lack access to quality dental care. His volunteering led him to realize just what a profound difference dental care can make in a person’s life, and how rewarding the practice of dentistry can be. He continues to volunteer on Fridays at Interfaith Community Clinic, which provides care to people without insurance.

Dr. Epstein is happy to be back in Texas, among family, friends, and good barbecue. He’s honored that he can work at the practice where his love of dentistry started and help the people of the Woodlands keep their smiles in tiptop shape.

Dr. Kristine Hong is an associate dentist at Le Dentistry & Associates in Norcross, GA. She is a native of South Korea and speaks both Korean and English fluently. Dr. Hong graduated from University of Washington (UW) with a dual degree in Microbiology and Violin Performance. She first worked as a research assistant at the UW Department of Immunology and authored multiple journal publications. Dr. Hong returned to UW School of Dentistry for a DDS, where she was a scholarship recipient and recognized for the best hand skills by peers and faculty.

Dr. Hong enjoys meeting new patients, providing quality dental care, and attending continuing education programs to improve her skills. She also enjoys working with the great team at Le Dentistry & Associates.

Isabel Del Valle is a born and raised in Union NJ, where she loves to give back to her community.  She has a double BA in Criminal Justice and Psychology and studying to be a Marriage and Family Therapist.  Isabel helped create the Criminal Justice club in college and became Vice President of the club and voluntarily worked as a facilitator for support groups at Good Grief in Princeton, NJ.  She has worked with children for 10+ years and has done volunteer work with Petey Greene. Isabel has a special love and passion for children and families and she is one to give her best at all times. 

Lisa Carrington, DDS, is a pediatric dentist at Select Dental & Orthodontics in Torrance, California. Dr. Carrington is happy to provide the little ones in your family with the specific care and welcoming experience they need to maintain their oral health. 

Dr. Carrington attended Loyola Marymount University, graduating with her bachelor’s degree in biology. While at the university, she was a part of the Delta Zeta Sorority, BBB Biological Honor Society, Chemistry Society, and the LEAP Program.

Once she completed her undergraduate studies, she went on to pursue her doctorate in dental surgery (DDS) at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Currently, she is working on finishing her pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Southern California. 

Dr. Carrington brings years of patient care experience to Select Dental & Orthodontics. She has worked with both pediatric and geriatric patients, helping each group with their unique needs and delivering health care that makes their treatment processes simple and smooth. Hemali Javia, DDS, is a general dentist practicing at Rural Health Corporation of Northeastern Pennsylvania, which has 12 locations throughout Nuremberg, Sullivan Trail Falls, Freeland, Hazelton, Monroe Township, Wilkes-Barre, Shickshinny, and Edwardsville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Javia has over 23 years of experience practicing general dentistry and currently sees patients at the Monroe-Noxen Dental Center in Monroe Township. 

Dr. Javia earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry in 1998, graduating with honors in comprehensive care and practice administration, in addition to risk management. Dr. Ruchi Trambadia earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, PA. She then received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She completed her General Practice Residency at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ.

Dr. Ruchi’s areas of dental proficiency include restorative dentistry, extractions, root canal therapy, both fixed and removable dentures, crowns and bridges. She strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable under her care. Notable titles of service include southwest district member of the Scientific Planning Committee of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, rotarian, and Major in the United States Air Force Reserve. Along with his wife, Dr. Angie, Dr. Steve was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Lake Travis Education Foundation. Dr. Steve has also happily served for years as a Board member of the Highland Lakes Health Partnership.

His awards include 2008 Lake LBJ Citizen of the Year, and in 2009, the Outstanding Citizen Award from the Marble Falls/Highland Lakes Chamber of Commerce where he serves on the board of directors of the Highland Lakes Health Partnership, serving and overseeing the formation of a charity dental in the Highland Lakes area. In 2011, he was honored as Officer of the Quarter for Lackland AFB 433AW. In addition, he has been a part of many community organizations and missions, treating hundreds of patients at no cost to them while recruiting multiple Texas dentists.

To maintain his cutting edge knowledge in the industry, Dr. Steve maintains his affiliations with many organizations that include the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Texas Association of Pediatric Dentistry. Also, a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Steve served as President of the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry in 2014, after holding nearly every office prior to his appointment. Dr. Steve began attending the AAPD Leadership institute at the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago in 2019. This Institute is a place where Pediatric Dentists hone their philosophical and operational approaches, to maximize their leadership potential and performance. He anticipates completion in 2021.

Joy Angie Hernandez, DDS, referred to by her patients as Dr. Angie, is a compassionate pediatric dentist and orthodontist. She serves children of all ages and abilities from in and around Austin, Texas, at Central Texas Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Angie specializes in pediatric dentistry, including dental exams, white composite fillings, sedation dentistry, and Invisalign®. She uses state-of-the-art dental equipment, including digital X-rays and laser dentistry techniques. 

Dr. Angie grew up in Arkansas and received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. Dr. Angie served a two-year pediatric dentistry residency at the Children’s Medical Center, the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. She went on to complete rigorous fellowship training in orthodontics. 

Dr. Angie is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and local dental societies. She’s also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Texas Association of Pediatric Dentistry. 

Outside of her practice, Dr. Angie spends time with her husband, Dr. Steve, and their five children. She’s extremely active in the communities of Marble Falls, Bee Caves, and Lake Travis, Texas. She volunteers her time and skills to serve underprivileged children through Christina’s Smile and Theo Van. Dr. Angie is also a former rotarian and a past director of the Lake Travis Education Foundation. Currently, Dr. Angie is a proud supporter of the Center for Child Protection, and serves on their fundraising planning committee.

Dr. Shiva Basir is a board certified pediatric dentist who believes that dentistry should be a fun experience for children. Her goal is to provide the best care to her young patients in a gentle way while ensuring good oral health habit formation by providing support and guidance to patients and their parents.

Shiva graduated from Columbia University with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. She completed her post doctoral education in general practice at the New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. While in practice as a general dentist, she discovered her joy and natural ability to work with children and decided to continue her education in pediatric dentistry. She received an additional 2 years of post doctoral training specializing in pediatric dentistry at Saint Joseph’s Regional Hospital in Paterson, NJ.

Dr. Basir is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of the America Association of Pediatric Dentistry, ADA (American Dental Association) and NYSDS (New York State Dental Society).

When she is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys other activities such as yoga, surfing, skiing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.    

After receiving a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from UC Berkeley, Dr. Moayeri attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and graduated with a DDS degree in 1994. He has attended several continuing education courses to keep up with the latest advances in dental technology.

Dr. Moayeri is also an attorney and received his JD degree from Southwestern School of Law. Besides serving as an expert witness in court cases, he has lectured in legal aspects of dentistry.

He is an active member of the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, and American Bar Association.

On a personal level, he enjoys traveling, photography, and snow skiing, as well as being the favorite uncle to his five lovely nieces.

 Dr. Kristin Bae completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry. She entered the dental program at the University of Maryland’s College of Dental Surgery in Baltimore, Maryland, and she graduated with a doctor of dental surgery degree in 2000. The dental program at the University of Maryland is the oldest dental college in the world and the only dental school in Maryland, graduating top notch doctors for many decades. After graduation, Dr. Bae joined Dulles Dental Group and has remained with the organization for the last 16 years. Dr. Bae’s goal is to help each person in her care establish and maintain his or her dental health. She enjoys being able to provide care for the entire family. With a focus on general dentistry, she also enjoys doing cosmetic dentistry work. Her specialties include cosmetic dentistry, general dentistry, teeth cleanings, bridges, Invisalign®, crowns, and veneers.

Dr. Bae is fluent in both Korean and English, communicating with a diverse group of patients and making it communication one of her song suits.
