Dexter McKenzie, MD, is an experienced internist and pediatrician serving patients of all ages at LaSante Health Center in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens area of Brooklyn. Dr. McKenzie has served the central Brooklyn community for over 30 years as a registered pharmacist and physician and treats a wide range of medical conditions for adults and children in New York City. 

After immigrating to Brooklyn from the Caribbean, Dr. McKenzie attended the public schools in the area, then received his Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical and health sciences from Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at Long Island University in New York City. Daniela Atanassova-Lineva, MD, is dedicated to the health of children and families at Peds For Kids in Rego Park, New York. A Board-Certified Pediatrician and a fellow of the Academy of Pediatrics’ section of Adolescent medicine, she was named among America’s top Pediatricians for 13 years running. Born in Bulgaria, she showed passion about medicine at an early age and pursued it with dedication and perseverance. Dr. Atanassova-Lineva started her elementary education in Kenitra, Morocco where she attended Lycee Francais. She graduated from High School as Valedictorian from the most prestigious High School in her native town Russe, Bulgaria, "The International School of Foreign Languages."

Dr. Atanassova-Lineva’s areas of clinical interest span Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Primary Care, and Adolescent Medicine, as well as asthma disease, allergic disorders, obesity, nutrition, and dermatology, integrated with aesthetic medicine. As a Pediatric Specialist, her emphasis remains on prevention for the young, younger, and youngest of patients. She received certifications in  Aesthetic Medicine in 2016 and in Obesity Medicine from Harvard University in 2019.

Dr. Atanassova-Lineva has practiced Pediatric and Emergency Medicine for more than 20 years. As a veteran Pediatrician, she has seen how parents’ health affects children. Her new focus is extending her practice to encompass treatment for the entire family by offering group counseling and telehealth medicine and remaining in close contact with the parents of her patients regardless of distance, location and time zone difference.

Earning a maximum medical school admittance score, Dr. Atanassova-Lineva won acceptance to Varna Medical University in Bulgaria where she earned her medical degree. She then completed a Pediatric residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, affiliated with Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, New York. 

She remained  an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Hospital’s Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine  for more than 15 years where she instructed medical students and pediatric residents. Currently she teaches the Stony Brook University PA students by percepting  their clinical rotations in Pediatrics at her private office. In addition, Dr. Atanassova-Lineva maintains affiliations with the prestigious NorthWell Children's Hospital in Long Island, NewYork Presbyterian-Queens Hospital,  and Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan.

With diverse interests in Medicine, Dr. Atanassova-Lineva has published scholarly articles on the subjects of obesity, nutrition, sports medicine and children with cleft lip and palate. Shortly after graduating from Medical University she led research in neuroscience and child's psychiatry.

In 2016 Dr Atanassova-Lineva lost her 20 year old daughter Stefani Lineva ( a division 1 Tennis player in pre-med College) in a hit and run accident. The tragedy inspired her to create a Non for Profit Organization in memory of her beloved Stefani, "Stefani Forever 20 ". Together with her son Daniel she became the CEO of this organization with the Mission to promote the game of tennis to all unprivileged children in the World.

Volunteering has always come naturally to Dr. Atanassova-Lineva and she has been donating her time helping children in Nepal, India, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala and Ecuador.

Fluent in five languages, Dr. Atanassova-Lineva has delivered numerous presentations at the Eastern European Meetings of Pediatrics, has numerous TV presentations on TV5Monde in Paris, France, Telemundo TV channel in New York, Bulgarian and Russian Radio Stations and the International Pediatric Association honored Dr. Atanassova-Lineva as a leading physician of the World and top pediatrician in Queens, New York. The following year, she was recognized with a Patients’ Choice Award. In 2018 Dr. Atanassova -Lineva was honored to cut the ribbon of the newly renovated Pediatric Clinic of Gotham Health and Hospital Corporations in Jackson Heights, NY. The International Association of Top Professionals honored Dr. Atanassova-Lineva  as the “Top Pediatrician of the Year for 2022”.  At the International Business Excellence Awards in 2023, Dr. Atanassova-Lineva was honored with the “Lifetime Achievement in Pediatric Medical Care Award”.

Dr. Daniel Shtraykher is a board-certified pediatrician in Brooklyn who specializes in children’s neuro-immune and complex chronic conditions. He began by treating PANDAS/PANS, and his practice has grown to include mold illness (CIRS), chronic Lyme and coinfections, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), POTS/dysautonomia, ADHD, and folate-transport problems in autism (including folinic acid/leucovorin therapy).

Drawing on genetics, immune biology, and environmental medicine, Dr. Shtraykher recognizes that these diagnoses often overlap—shared pathways (inflammation, autoimmunity, mitochondrial stress, connective-tissue traits, and detox genetics) can blur boundaries. Luis Velasquez, MD, Director of Pediatrics at Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, which has locations in Arverne, Far Rockaway, Brooklyn, and Jamaica, New York. He joined the pediatrics medical care team in 2010.

Dr. Velasquez graduated Cum Laude from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York, and thereafter, from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. His post-graduate training includes Preliminary Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital, Anesthesia and Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He also took courses in Medical Health Administration at Bellevue University.

During his tenure at Addabbo, Dr. Velasquez has served as an EclinicalWorks (EMR) SuperUser, Member and Co-chair of the Addabbo Risk Management Committee, Chairman of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Committee, Acting Chief Medical Officer, and Associate Medical Director. Among his many credentials, Dr. Velasquez holds Certifications in Ambulatory Care Level 1 and 2 Risk Management, Opioid Prescribing Program 1 and 2, Infectious Control, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Conscious Sedation. Among his many organizational memberships, he is a Diplomat, American Board of Pediatrics, a member of the International Pediatric Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Velasquez was born and raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn, in a closely-knit but not affluent family. His dad worked in a factory making beach umbrellas, and his mom was a stay-at-home mom so she could be there with him and for his sister. He remembers “growing up not necessarily having everything everyone else did, including access to medical care.” Because of his upbringing, Dr. Velasquez feels a special connection to many of his pediatric patients at Joseph P. He enjoys working at Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center because he enjoys helping others and making a difference in the lives of Addabbo children – one child at a time. He enjoys watching his patients grow up, year after year, and become individuals. Combining his love for biology and children, Dr. Velasquez believes that his career as a pediatrician is the very best of both worlds.

He speaks fluent Spanish and English, a “teeny” little bit of Arabic, and in his spare time, enjoys landscape and portrait sketching, watercolor, creative writing, nature, horror/occult and Sci-Fi fiction, multi-cultural music and foods, travel, and sightseeing.
