Over her career, Dr. Schwab has built up expertise in handling a wide range of pediatric care needs, incorporating the whole family into the care of their child.
Dr. Schwab grew up in the Pacific Northwest before attending the University of Portland, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in biology. She moved on to Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine earning her medical degree in 2004. Dr. Schwab completed her pediatric residency at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Schwab has been practicing with Sellwood Medical Clinic since 2010, establishing herself as a leading pediatrician in the Portland area and earning her the Castle Connolly Award for being among the top doctors in the region. Dr. Schwab focuses on building quality, long-lasting relationships with her patients and their families, taking into account the emotional needs of all family members.
Away from work, Dr. Schwab enjoys skiing, traveling, and attending school functions with her husband and three children.
Ms. Bernhardt grew up on the Central Coast of California and moved to Portland with her husband in 2002. She received her Bachelors degree in Nursing from Sonoma State University in California and began her career in 1999 as a Pediatric Nurse on an acute care floor at a hospital in San Francisco. She received her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree at Oregon Health and Science University in 2005 and worked in Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant at OHSU.
Tara loves working with kids of all ages and helping families to be healthy in all arenas of their life. She always strives to ease fears and make the clinic experience positive for kids. Tara and her husband have two school age children and a dog, and she says having kids of her own has helped her in her practice and to understand the realities of family life. Her family loves spending time outdoors; hiking, camping, running, skiing and playing soccer.
Naghmeh Moshtael, MD is joining the pediatric team on a full-time basis at Sellwood Medical Clinic. Dr. Moshtael has been in practice for nearly 20 years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has been integrally involved in the care of medically complex patients and is a passionate child health advocate. Dr. Moshtael has been recognized for her commitment to teaching medical students, residents and fellow providers and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards including the 2011 Community Faculty Teaching Award from Doernbecher Children's Hospital pediatric residency program, the 2021 Joseph B Bilderback Teaching Award for Community Providers from Doernbecher Children's Hospital and the 2024 Ann M Loeffler Community Teaching Award from Randall Children's Hospital. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, member of the Academy for Eating Disorders and Columbia River Eating Disorder Network. Dr. Moshtael is married, has an almost 16 yo daughter and an energetic labradoodle. When not busy at work, she loves to travel, garden and knit.
Courtney Cotner is a dedicated and compassionate Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a wealth of experience in various pediatric settings. Since 2017, she has provided high-quality care in Pediatrics, Mother Baby, and the NICU. Courtney is committed to a patient-centered approach, recognizing the unique needs of each child and family. Her passion for advocating for children’s health and well-being drives her to support all aspects of healthy development.
Originally from Oregon’s wine country, Courtney earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Portland State University. She then pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Oregon Health and Science University, graduating in 2017. In 2024, she achieved her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Arizona State University, focusing on primary care to support children's growth and development comprehensively.
Courtney believes in building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and their families. She takes the time to listen and understand their concerns, ensuring every child receives personalized and empathetic care.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys rock climbing, playing pickleball, and spending time with her husband, their goldendoodle, and friends. She loves exploring the outdoors and cherishes the moments she shares with her loved ones.
