Robert Schmidt, MD, is a double-board certified surgeon and the founder of West End Facial Plastic Surgery in Richmond, Virginia. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck and is proud to share his skills and expertise with individuals living in the Greater Richmond Region. 

A Delaware native, Dr. Schmidt received his undergraduate training in psychology at Duke University, graduating with honors. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He then completed a residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia.

Following his residency, Dr. Schmidt completed his training with a prestigious fellowship in facial plastic surgery awarded by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. These fellowships consist of one-on-one training with national leaders in the field and represent the highest degree of training available in facial plastic surgery.

After practicing for several years in Texas, Dr. Schmidt founded West End Facial Plastic Surgery in the fall of 2017.

He formerly was an instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. Tanya Oswald, MD, is a cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery specialist at Estetica Nova in Centennial, Colorado. 

As Estetica Nova’s founding physician, Dr. Oswald brings over 18 years of experience. She is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and completed her fellowships in microsurgery, complex wound reconstruction, and hand and peripheral nerve surgery.
