“The best psychologist I have ever worked with! Dr Sims is very friendly and easy to talk to. She is supportive and also offers smart suggestions. If you disagree with her hypothesis she is flexible and collaborates with you to work toward what makes sense for you. Her approach is grounded in science. I can’t say enough good things about her. I have learned a lot from her and feel so much better.”

About Lamar Ingulli, PsyD

Her own child was diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental disorder at the age of three, at which time early intervention services were initiated. Initial evaluations placed her child in the mild-to-moderate range of developmental delays. By age six, those scores had improved to the average and, in some areas, above-average range. While a few areas of weakness remain, the progress achieved through early intervention was remarkable. As her child grew, Dr. Ingulli also witnessed the challenges of navigating the school system. She advocated for appropriate educational accommodations, successfully securing a Section 504 Plan to support her child's academic success. Through a combination of early diagnosis and intervention, ongoing support, and determination, her child graduated from high school with honors and is attending a major university on a merit scholarship. This experience has strengthened Dr. Ingulli's commitment to helping other families identify neurodevelopmental disorders as early as possible and connect children with the services they need to reach their full potential.

Through her extensive clinical training and decades of experience, Dr. Ingulli has developed expertise in the neuropsychological evaluation and care of children with epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, learning differences, and other neurological and medical conditions affecting brain development and cognitive functioning. Dr. Ingulli earned her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology from Argosy University in Tampa, Florida. Her doctoral dissertation examined the cognitive effects of epilepsy in children, as well as the risk factors associated with the condition and its treatment interventions. She completed her predoctoral internship in neuropsychology at the University of Nebraska, followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, where she served on the medical staff for eight years. In 2010, she returned to Tampa, Florida, to develop the outpatient pediatric neuropsychology program at Tampa General Hospital and served on the medical staff at TGH for five years. She has served on the medical staff at Orlando Health (formerly Bayfront Medical Center) since 2012 as part of their comprehensive epilepsy program.

In 2013, Dr. Ingulli founded Bay Area Neuropsychology (BAN), where she currently operates as Executive Director, medical provider, and contractor for the Florida Center-Fetal Alcohol Disorder Clinic. She is a professional member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology, the Florida Psychological Association (FPA), and the FPA Neuropsychology Division. She has served as President of the Neuropsychology Division of FPA, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field of neuropsychology through both clinical practice and professional leadership.
