Viney Mathavan, MD is a board-certified general surgeon and is a member of the    Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis. 

Dr Mathavan completed his Medical School from Government Medical College,  University of Jammu, India in 1995. He was then House Officer in the Department of  Radiology and Ophthalmology at Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu for one year. He  then did his General Surgery Residency from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India  from 1997 to 2000. He subsequently came to US with his family. He initially joined as a General Surgery intern at York Hospital, York, Pennsylvania and then completed another five-year General Surgery residency at Huron Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Health system, Cleveland, Ohio which he finished in 2008. He then did one year of combined Fellowship at St Vincent Hospital and Indiana University in Advanced Laparoscopy, Endoscopy and Ultrasound. He joined St Vincent Hospital as Medical Staff in 2009 with North Indy Surgical and has been working there since then. He recently joined Naab Road Surgery Group.

Lewis Jacobson, MD, is board-certified in both Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and is in practice at the Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis. Dr. Jacobson specializes in treating severely injured trauma patients and is the Medical Director of the St. Vincent Indianapolis Level 1 Trauma Center and the Trauma/Neuro/Surgical Intensive Care Unit. He also serves as Chair of the Department of Surgery. 

Dr. Jacobson earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town Medical School in Cape Town, South Africa. He then completed his residency in general surgery at Sinai Hospital of Detroit in Detroit, Michigan and subsequently a two year fellowship specializing in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. 

Dr. Jacobson then spent 18 years at the Indiana University/Wishard Memorial Hospital Level 1 Trauma Center before being recruited to start the St. Vincent Indianapolis Trauma program. He is a former State Chair of the Indiana Chapter of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and is a current member of the National Committee on Trauma. He is also a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery and the Indiana State Department of Health Trauma Care Committee. 

Dr. Jacobson is a Student Course Director for the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course and co-author of the Musculoskeletal Trauma chapter in the 10th edition of the ATLS Student Course Manual.

Ian Ferries, MD, is a board-certified surgeon on the team at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis. 

An Indiana native, Dr. Ferries was born and raised in Kokomo. He graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in biology from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Dr. Ferries then earned his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He finished his medical training at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, where he completed a fellowship in trauma surgical and critical care.

Jessica Belchos, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Belchos attended The University of Western Ontario where she got her BSc in Kinesiology with a minor in Medical Sciences and a Masters in Anatomy and Cell Biology. Dr. Belchos was an avid rugby player and member of the Canadian Women’s Rugby Team. Her home club was the Irish Canadians, and her Irish ties led her to medical school in Dublin, Ireland. She attended medical school at University College Dublin. She came to Indianapolis for her general surgery residency at Ascension St Vincent. She then attended Indiana University for her fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care.

Dr. Belchos is board certified by the American College of Surgeons in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the American Medical Association.

Kathryn Leitwein, MD, is a double-board certified surgeon on the team of dedicated providers at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis.  She is board certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care.

Dr. Leitwein is an Indiana native who grew up on the westside of Indianapolis. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry. Dr. Leitwein then earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at St. Vincent Indianapolis. She finished her medical training at Ohio State University with a fellowship in surgical critical care.

Dr. Leitwein joined Naab Road Surgical Group in 2020, where she practices general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care.  She is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.

Outside of work, Dr. Leitwein enjoys spending time with her husband, Randy, and their family while cheering for the Hoosiers, and occasionally the Buckeyes.

Timothy Glass, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon and has been a member of the team at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis since 1996.

Dr. Glass was raised in Elkhart, Indiana, where he competed in both track and cross-country. He continued his career as a runner in Upland, Indiana at Taylor University, where he also earned a degree in biology. Dr. Glass then moved on to Indiana University School of Medicine, earning his medical degree in 1990.

Dr. Glass moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he simultaneously completed his residency at Michigan State’s Butterworth Hospital and a fellowship in surgical critical care. Dr. Glass then joined the Naab Road Surgical Group, where he has treated patients ever since.

Dr. Glass is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Medical Athletic Association, in addition to a number of local and regional medical societies. Douglas J. Kaderabek, MD, is a board-certified surgeon and has been a member of the team at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis since 1991. Dr. Kaderabek attended Indiana University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in biology. A former Eagle Scout, he then spent three years as district executive of the Hoosier Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Kaderabek returned to Indiana University, earning his medical degree in 1986, before moving to Detroit to complete a residency at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals.

Dr. Kaderabek is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the American Hernia Society. His current interests include hernia repair, gastrointestinal surgery, and minimally invasive surgery - including laparoscopy and robotics. He is a faculty member of the the St. Vincent Surgical Residency program and is involved in training young surgeons. He relocated to Indianapolis for the majority of his education, graduating from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, earning his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, and completing his general surgery residency at St. Vincent Indianapolis. He moved to Dallas to finish his medical training with a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Roberts joined Naab Road Surgical Group in 2018, where he practices general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care.

Outside of work, Dr. Roberts likes to stay active by boxing, lifting weights, and running. He also enjoys spending time with his two dogs, his daughter, and his wife, Krystle, who’s a family medicine doctor. 

Jonathan Saxe, MD, is a dedicated surgeon on the team of skilled providers at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis, with a special interest in hepatic, pancreatic surgery, and endocrine surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid. He’s a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with a certificate of added qualification in surgical critical care, and he has more than 50 publications to his name.

Dr. Saxe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, before going to Wayne State University in Detroit, where he earned his medical degree. He stayed at Wayne State University to complete a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in trauma surgery. Dr. Saxe also holds a master’s degree in religion from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Before joining the team at Naab Road Surgical Group, Dr. Saxe worked in Detroit, where he was the director of trauma and critical care at Detroit Medical Center’s Sinai-Grace Hospital and a professor of surgery at Wayne State University. 

Prior to his work in Detroit, Dr. Saxe served the community of Dayton, Ohio, at Wright State University, where he served as the director of surgical research, a professor of surgery, and the associate program director and interim director of the surgical critical care fellowship. During his time in Ohio, he also served as the chair of the American College of Surgeons’ Ohio Committee on Trauma.

Thomas Tigges, MD, is a board-certified surgeon and three-time “Top Doc,” according to Indianapolis Monthly Magazine. He has been a member of the Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis since 1993.

Dr. Tigges grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, where his scholastic achievements qualified him as a State of Iowa Scholar. He continued his run of academic excellence at the University of Iowa, graduating with a degree in zoology with honors, then earning his medical degree in 1986. He continued his studies in Ann Arbor, Michigan, completing his general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

After two years at the Wichita Clinic in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Tigges moved to Indiana to join Naab Road Surgical Group, specializing in the treatment of breast surgery. 

Dr. Tigges’ work with the Volunteer Clinical Faculty Services at the Indiana University School of Medicine earned him admission to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Abdominal Surgeons, the Midwest Surgical Society, and a number of other regional and local medical societies.

Dr. Tigges and his wife, Conna, enjoy spending time in the country with their six children.

Joshua Kays, MD is a surgical oncologist on the team at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis with expertise in the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and disorders. His clinical practice includes care of patients with primary and secondary liver tumors, bile duct cancer and disorders, gallbladder cancer and disorders, benign and malignant pancreatic tumors and disorders, stomach cancers, colon cancer, neuroendocrine tumors and sarcomas.  

Dr. Kays was raised in Hennepin, IL. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor degree in cellular and molecular biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois-Peoria. Following medical school, Dr. Kays, moved to Indianapolis for general surgery residency at Indiana University. While a surgical resident he completed a two year oncology research fellowship and earned a master’s degree in translational research from Indiana University.  Upon completion of residency, Dr. Kays moved to Los Angeles where he completed a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  Dr. Kays has authored numerous peer reviewed publications, presented at multiple regional and national meetings, and is a reviewer for the journal Surgical Endoscopy. 

Dr. Kays is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and American Society of Clinical Oncology. He continues to be active academically with his research focusing on liver, bile duct, gallbladder, pancreatic and gastric cancers and the muscle wasting syndrome known as cancer cachexia. Dr. Kays is a passionate and accomplished educator with multiple educational awards as a resident including the IU Department of Surgery Surgical Socrates Award as a chief resident. Andrew Isch, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis, and an expert in the minimally invasive treatment of speech and esophageal disorders.

Dr. Isch was born and raised in the Indianapolis area, graduating from Carmel High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, earning a spot on both the dean’s list and the varsity tennis team each of his four years. After graduating with a philosophy degree, Dr. Isch attended the Indiana University School of Medicine, earning his medical degree in 1996. He remained at Indiana University for his residency before moving to Seattle, Washington, to complete a fellowship in advanced laparoendoscopic surgery at the University of Washington.

Dr. Travis Montgomery

Travis Montgomery, DPM, FACFAS, AMOS is an expert foot and ankle surgeon providing innovative and evidence-based treatments to patients in Carmel, Indiana. He believes in the philosophy of "save a limb, save a life,” and aims to “keep America walking” through his whole-body approach.

Dr. Montgomery received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Wartburg College, located in Waverly, Iowa, where he was also an NCAA basketball player. He then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned placement on the Dean’s List throughout his tenure.
