Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Belchos attended The University of Western Ontario where she got her BSc in Kinesiology with a minor in Medical Sciences and a Masters in Anatomy and Cell Biology. Dr. Belchos was an avid rugby player and member of the Canadian Women’s Rugby Team. Her home club was the Irish Canadians, and her Irish ties led her to medical school in Dublin, Ireland. She attended medical school at University College Dublin. She came to Indianapolis for her general surgery residency at Ascension St Vincent. She then attended Indiana University for her fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care.
Dr. Belchos is board certified by the American College of Surgeons in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Belchos and her husband Jerry have two children. They enjoy hiking, cooking, CrossFit, watching many different sports and playing with their children and their German Shepard.
