After completing his undergraduate degree at Southeastern Louisiana University, he earned his Doctor of Audiology degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Shortly after, he became board certified in audiology and began his professional career.

Today, as Director of Audiology at SLENT, JJ leads the department in meeting the hearing and balance needs of the community. Eugene Tanquilut, DO, FACOS, is a board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon at Vascular Specialists in Tinley Park, Illinois  Dr. Tanquilut has provided vascular care and surgery in the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago since 2005.
