Stephen A. Cohen, MD, FACC, is an invasive cardiologist who specializes in pacemaker implantation and lipid management, with a special interest in nuclear cardiology. He currently sees patients at Cardiology Specialists of Orange County in Santa Ana, Irvine, and Newport Beach, California. 

Dr. Cohen graduated with his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa. He then completed a residency and fellowship at the same institution before relocating to the United States and completing an internship, residency, and fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Cohen is double board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.

In 2006, he completed the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners Certification of Special Competency in Cardiac Pacing and Cardioversion Defibrillation for the physician. Dr. Yalvac received his Bachelor of Arts in economics and math, graduating cum laude. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in Galveston. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Afterward, Dr. Yalvac completed a general cardiology fellowship at the Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute before completing an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. 

He holds certification from the Board of Nuclear Cardiology in advanced cardiac life support and is Level II trained in echocardiography. Dr. Yalvac is a member of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

Ryan Burris, MD is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist and cardiologist at Cardiology Specialists of Orange County (CSOC) practicing in Santa Ana, Irvine, and Newport Beach, California. He has special interests in catheter ablation of SVT, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and VT as well as in implantation of cardioverter-defibrillators (including subcutaneous systems), permanent pacemakers (including leadless technologies), and CRT insertion.

Dr. Burris attended UC San Diego for his undergraduate and graduate degrees and then received his medical degree from UC Irvine where he subsequently completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship. He then completed his advanced fellowship training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Chicago where he focused on complex ablations and device implantation. In addition to his board certifications in both cardiac electrophysiology and cardiology, he is board certified in internal medicine and adult comprehensive echocardiography.

Ali Ashtiani, MD is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible interventional cardiologist at Cardiology Specialists of Orange County (CSOC) practicing in Santa Ana, Irvine, and Newport Beach, California. Amer Zarka, MD, is a general and interventional cardiologist and managing partner at Good Heart Medical Group, Inc. in Santa Ana and Garden Grove, California. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is certified in advanced cardiopulmonary life support.

Arjun Makam, DO FACC, is a board-certified interventional cardiologist and a partner physician of Makam Medical in Anaheim, California. He holds board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, adult echocardiography, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology and clinical lipidology. With his medical expertise and modern approach to cardiovascular diseases, Dr. Makam ensures his patients receive the best cardiovascular care. 

Dr. Makam completed his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. After graduating, he pursued his doctorate in osteopathic medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. 

Following this, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California and continued on as Chief resident of the program. His training aspiriations then took him to New Orleans, Louisiana where he completed fellowship in Cardiovascular disease at the John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, where he also served as Chief fellow of the program. He then returned to California to complete his training at Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center, where he completed advanced fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology. Most recently he has become a board-certified lipidologist, enhancing his ability to idenitify patient's at the highest risk from choleseterol related complications as well as looking after those with genetic forms of cholesterol.

As a physician who strives to provide exceptional patient experiences, Dr. Makam can speak English, Spanish, and Telugu, and comfortably work with patients’ complex needs. Ray Wyman, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in general cardiology, internal medicine, interventional cardiology, and adult congenital heart disease. An experienced cardiologist with more than 20 years in his field, Dr. Wyman serves the community of Los Angeles at COR Healthcare Medical Associates in Torrance, California.

Dr. Wyman earned his medical doctorate from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore before completing his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the same city. Dr. Wyman developed an interest in cardiology early in his career and later completed dual cardiology fellowships through Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

In addition to heart disease and heart attack treatment, anticoagulation management, and high blood pressure treatment, Dr. Wyman performs ongoing research in coronary artery stenting.

Dr. Wyman has many interests and hobbies outside of work. When he isn’t spending time with his wife and four children, he loves playing outdoor sports and cooking gourmet meals at home.
