Gene Kim, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist at COR Healthcare Medical Associates in Los Angeles. At the practice’s locations in Torrance and Manhattan Beach, California, he treats patients of all ages and specializes in cardiac electrophysiology, general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and adult congenital heart disease.
Dr. Kim earned his medical degree at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, before moving to California to complete an internal medicine residency at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. Dr. Kim continued his advanced medical training with fellowships in cardiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in West Carson, California, and cardiac electrophysiology at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
He maintains certification in both cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is fluent in English and Korean.
When he’s not diagnosing and treating patients with heart issues, Dr. Kim and his wife enjoy spending time with their two young sons and participating in all types of sports.

Good Dr.Has been so for many years that I have been seeing him.
My last visit for a device check and doctor consultation was handled like a well oiled machine. I was brought back to start the appointment almost on the minute the appointment was scheduled. My weight and vitals were taken, I was brought to another location where specific questions were asked and answered. As soon as the vitals and Q&A were completed, I was escorted to the office for the device check. Brian was ready and immediately started the testing, answering all of my questions while checking out my implanted device. He took all of the time necessary to discuss the device and explain what he was doing. I spent about 10 to 15 minutes with Brian before being escorted back to the previous room. Before I had time to retrieve a book from my bag, , Dr. Kim entered, sat down, and discussed my current feelings about how the device was working asking specifically about some of my earlier experiences while the device was being tuned to my heart's needs. Dr. Kim took the time to listen to and answer all of my questions. When I had gotten my answers, Dr. Kim recommended we schedule another check in a year which seemed about right. Once we were done, I stopped at the scheduling desk which presented the only wait ( a couple of minutes) that I had experienced through the visit. I felt that the office respected the value of my time and handled the whole process in a way that made me feel that my questions were answered and my time was not wasted. Overall, I was very satisfied with this visit.
