Dr. Marc Gainor grew up on Long Island and has been in the private practice of dentistry for over 44 years. He graduated with a BA in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977 and received his DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1981. He then completed a post graduate General Practice Residency in Dentistry in 1982 at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.
In 2006 Dr. Gainor was awarded the title of "Master" of the Academy of General Dentistry and was also awarded with the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award from the Academy for his continuing education achievements and service to organized dentistry.
Dr. Gainor loves teaching and has taught courses in dentistry nationally and internationally for the last 15 years. He currently serves as Visiting Faculty at Spear Education in Scottsdale Arizona and Visiting Faculty at the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and has held past appointments as Clinical Instructor at both the University of Pennsylvania and New York University.
Dr. Gainor has been very involved in organized dentistry for over 20 years. He was elected General Chairman of the Greater New York Dental Meeting (the largest dental meeting in the United States), Secretary of the New York County Dental Society, Manhattan Area Vice President of the New York State Academy of General Dentistry, as well as President of the New England Masters Study Club. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of each of those organizations for many years.
Dr. Gainor is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the New York County Dental Society. He has been awarded Honorary Fellowships in the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
