Stephen Suah, MD, MS, is a board-certified dermatologist serving the community of Washington, DC, at Foxhall Dermatology.   Dr. Suah received his undergraduate degree and medical degree from the University of Florida. He also received his Master’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Georgetown University, graduating summa cum laude. During residency, Dr. Suah focused on patient-centered care, medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and skin of color while training at Howard University in Washington, DC, VA Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Children’s National Hospitals. Dr. Suah continues to serve in a mentorship role at the Howard University Dermatology Residency Program.   Dr. Suah is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the National Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. He has published chapters in medical dermatology, peer review articles and featured in the Washington Times, Washington Post, Womans World Magazine and NBC News.   A proud native of the DC area, Dr. Suah was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, prior to moving to Florida with his family. Dr. Suah has been recognized by his peers as one of the Washingtonian Top Doctors in 2022-2024.

Dr. Raina Bembry is a board-certified dermatologist. She treats medical dermatology and skin cancer. She is particularly passionate about treating skin of color and pediatric dermatology, demonstrating a deep commitment to addressing the unique needs of diverse and pediatric patient populations. 

Born and raised in northern New Jersey, Dr. Bembry's journey in medicine began with a strong academic foundation. She attended the University of Miami in Miami, FL, where she double majored in Marine Science and Biology. Dr. Bembry earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, where she developed a profound appreciation for the DMV area and serving its community.  

She finished her internship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. She then completed a clinical research fellowship in Contact Dermatitis at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC. During this time, she made significant contributions to the field by authoring and co-authoring several articles in renowned scientific journals. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where she served as chief resident, showcasing her leadership and commitment to patient care.  

Dr. Bembry's passion for dermatology is evident in her dedication to helping patients achieve their skin goals at FoxHall Dermatology. Dr. Bembry is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and Skin of Color Society. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Melanie Tawfik is a board certified dermatologist. She is a native of North Carolina and completed her undergraduate studies and medical school education at Duke University. She completed her internship and dermatology residency at Loma Linda University in Southern California, where she also served as Chief Resident in her final year.

She has served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Georgetown University prior to joining District Dermatology, training and lecturing dermatology residents and Georgetown medical students. She is passionate about providing the highest quality, evidence-based care for her patients. She sees patients of all ages and her special interests are in pediatric dermatology, acne, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.

She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a published scientific author. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, outdoor activities, cooking, and volunteering at her church.

Sanna Ronkainen, M.D, F.A.A.D. is a board-certified dermatologist. Dr. Ronkainen is a Northern Virginia native, born and raised in Fairfax County. She graduated from St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, and earned her B.A. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation from Rice, she was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship--a grant to pursue research through travel in a topic of personal interest--studying type 1 diabetes. During her fellowship she traveled to Argentina, Tonga, India, Hong Kong, South Africa, and Tanzania. She returned to Washington, DC for medical school at Georgetown University, where she graduated cum laude and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as recognition of her academic excellence.

Dr. Ronkainen then completed a five-year combined residency in Dermatology and Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota, where she participated in the global health track and served as Chief Resident during her final year. During her residency she was awarded the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award and was inducted in the Gold Humanism Medical Honor Society for her enthusiasm for teaching medical students.

Prior to joining District Dermatology, Dr. Ronkainen served as an assistant professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine and worked at the Medstar Washington Hospital Center Department of Dermatology. Dr. Ronkainen is delighted to serve her home community. She enjoys caring for patients with a wide variety of skin concerns and is committed to developing tailored treatment plans for each of her patients. Dr. Ronkainen has you covered for your skin care needs, whether performing a thorough skin check for concerning growths, managing sudden rashes or chronic skin conditions (like eczema, psoriasis & acne). Dr. Monique Chheda is a board certified dermatologist. She is a native of Chicago. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where she graduated with honors. She went on to complete her medical school education at the University of Illinois - Chicago Medical School, where she graduated at the top of her class, being accepted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Chicago, where she also served as Chief Resident in her final year.

She has been in both academic and private practice since completing her training, practicing in Maryland and New Jersey prior to joining District Dermatology. Dr. Chheda is passionate about providing high-quality dermatologic care for her patients. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and her interests in medical dermatology include acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin cancer screening and treatment. She also has a special interest in hair loss and conditions in skin of color.

She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, serving previously on the Young Physicians Committee, and is a published scientific author. When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She is also an award-winning children’s book author!

Dr. Karlyn Pollack, M.D., F.A.A.D, is a board certified dermatologist. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, where she graduated with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Biochemistry. Her undergraduate years were marked by a profound interest in research, setting the stage for her future contributions to medical science.

Dr. Pollack continued her academic journey at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she not only earned her medical degree but also completed her dermatology residency. Oge Onwudiwe, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Cutis Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics in Alexandria, Virginia. Dr. Onwudiwe takes a patient-centered approach to care, listening intently to patient concerns and thoroughly explaining skin issues and treatment options.

Dr. Stranahan is a native of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, growing up in Easton and graduating from Easton High School. After completing his residency training, Dr. Stranahan returned home to the Eastern Shore with his wife, Brigitte, also from Easton, and their two children. They’re thrilled to call Easton home once again, where they can be closer to family and friends. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Stranahan enjoys the outdoors, fishing, boating, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Hyland Cronin, MD is a board certified dermatologist and surgeon who provides the highest quality medical and aesthetic skin care to patients of all ages at Easton Dermatology Associates, a state-of-the-art practice in Easton, Maryland, that serves residents on the Delmarva Peninsula. She specializes in skin cancer, especially surgical treatments including Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Cronin obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. She went on to earn her medical degree at the University of West Virginia School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia.
