After earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors, Dr. Gruson received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in New York City. While in medical school, she earned the Marion B. Sulzberger Dermatology Award and membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her dermatology residency at the NYU Medical Center, serving as chief resident and receiving the Morris Leider Award for excellence in dermatology.

Vignesh Ramachandran, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology who treats adults and children in full-spectrum general, medical, and cosmetic dermatology conditions affecting the skin, hair and nails. When he was a child, he and his family immigrated to a small town of 16,000 in Ontario, Canada before his educational journey brought him to the United States. Dr. Ramachandran still maintains those small town values, merging relentless hard work with compassion, honesty and humility to care for his patients and community.
Dr. Ramachandran graduated as a Presidential Scholar from the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Allison Jaekle is a Board Certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Allison was born and raised locally on Long Island. She attended Binghamton University for her undergraduate degree in History with a concentration in Public Health. She then attended Touro College for a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Master in Physician Assistant Studies, where she received the Leadership, Academic, and Clinical Achievement awards upon graduation.
She is currently an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. Allison has always had a true passion for dermatology and is honored to be part of the SINY Dermatology team. Sergey Petrosian DO is a board-certified dermatologist at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®). Dr. Petrosian treats adult and pediatric patients at three of SINY’s® offices, in the Forest Hills area of Queens as well as the Bay Ridge and Park Slope areas of Brooklyn, New York.
He is a native of New York City who grew up in Queens and attended Brooklyn Technical High School. After earning a bachelor of science degree from SUNY Stony Brook University, Dr. Petrosian received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM/NYITCOM) in Westbury, New York. He then completed his residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, New York in affiliation with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Petrosian attended, presented and lectured at many conferences as a resident, he also received many scholastic accolades in that time. During his residency Dr. Petrosian consistently scored amongst the top percentile in the nation on in-service examinations. Alexander Fogel, MD, is a highly-skilled dermatologist serving patients at Adult & Pediatric Dermatology Specialists in Trumbull and Westport, Connecticut.
Dr. Fogel is double board certified in both Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery (a.k.a. Mohs). During medical school at Stanford, he founded a free clinic for patients without health insurance and maintained a longitudinal pediatric dermatology clinic. During residency at Yale, Dr. Fogel was the resident lead for surgical, procedural, and cosmetic dermatology, managing resident education in these areas.
Outside of work, Dr. Fogel is happily married and has three children. He loves exploring New England, partaking in the culture of our nearby cities, and working on his small farm.

Dr. Wilder graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in biology. He trained at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his internship at Suncoast Hospital. Dr. Wilder completed his residency in dermatology at St. Barnabas Hospital.
He has written several articles and has been a guest lecturer for the past 10 years. Dr. Wilder is on-staff at Bridgeport Hospital and the clinical instructor of dermatology at Yale University.

Robert Ecker, MD, FAAD, is an experienced, board-certified dermatologist serving patients at Integrated Dermatology of Groton in Groton, Connecticut.
Dr. Ecker earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Colorado. After which, he worked in pharmaceutical research for nearly 10 years. Through his time in research, Dr. Ecker knew his rightful place was working directly with patients.
He returned to school at the University of Washington in Seattle, earning his medical degree, and completed his internship at the Virginia Mason Hospital. Relocating to Wisconsin, Dr. Ecker trained at the University of Wisconsin’s prestigious dermatology program. He also served as Chief Resident in his last year of training.

She subsequently moved to New York to earn her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College. During medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and a recipient of the Glasgow-Rubin Memorial Achievement Award honoring select women for academic achievement.
Dr. Shah completed her internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and her dermatology residency at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. In her final year, she served as Chief Resident. Following residency, she completed subspecialty fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and reconstructive surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medicine. She then became Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Northwell-Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. Shah's primary clinical focus is the management of skin cancers including squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, early-stage melanoma, and rare cutaneous tumors. She additionally provides medical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology services. Dr. Shah lives in New York City with her husband and miniature dachshund, Gus.

Dr. Gratch has previously served as a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is also an active contributor in the academic world of dermatology, having overseen numerous research projects in cutaneous diseases with published papers and articles in several scientific journals and books.

Michelle W. Ma, MD, FAAD is a Board Certified Dermatologist who completed her residency through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in June 2017. We're very excited to have her as a full-time provider at MDCS Dermatology: Medical Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, located in Plainview, Commack, Manhattan, Upper East Side and Hampton Bays, New York.
