Brett Wertman, MD, FACC, is a triple board-certified cardiologist who is widely respected for his treatment and care for patients at Coastal Cardiology of Orange County in Ladera Ranch and Irvine, California.
Dr. Wertman, who twice has been named a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association, also leads the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Hoag Hospital Irvine in Irvine.
An Orange County native, Dr. Wertman graduated summa cum laude and with Phi Beta Kappa Society honors in earning his Bachelor of Arts degrees in biochemistry and molecular, cellular, and developmental biology from the University of Colorado Boulder in Boulder, Colorado.
Dr. Wertman then completed his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, and went on to finish his internship and residency training in internal medicine at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
He completed his fellowship training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, also in Los Angeles.
Dr. Wertman has authored numerous publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and participated in live case transmissions to national meetings, demonstrating new techniques in the treatment of coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Wertman is highly trained in the percutaneous treatment of valvular heart disease, including aortic valve replacement using the Edwards Sapien heart valve system, as well as mitral valve repair using the Abbott MitraClip™ system. He also has significant experience in other novel interventional therapies.

Adam Weitzman, MD, is a Pain Management physician who practices in four Los Angeles locations, Redondo Beach, El Segundo, Torrance and Seal Beach, California. He is double board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Weitzman earned his medical degree and graduated with honors from the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. He then completed an internship at the University of Pennsylvania before completing a residency in anesthesiology at Temple University, both in Philadelphia. Afterward, he finished an ACGME recognized fellowship in pain management at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in New York City, where he served as chief fellow.
He focuses on state-of-the-art therapies for acute and chronic pain. Dr. Weitzman uses a multidisciplinary approach that includes chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy, stem cell therapy, and interventional pain techniques. At Southern California Pulmonologists and Intensivists Network of Sound Physicians, the doctor and his staff serve the residents of Long Beach, California, and many neighboring communities. Dr. Tanios has been practicing medicine in Southern California for almost 15 years. He is a pillar in the local medical community and serves on many hospital boards and committees in the Long Beach area.
After completing his internal medicine residency, Dr. Tanios went on to complete several fellowships including three at Tufts-New England Medical Center in sleep medicine, critical care medicine, and pulmonary medicine. Dr. Tanios is also an accomplished associate professor of medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Tanios has received numerous achievements and awards for his work. He has been recognized by the American Lung Association and has also applied for and received grants from the National Institutes of Health. Most recently, Dr. Tanios was selected to the 2016 registry of “America’s Best Physicians.” He has also been listed on Southern California Super Doctors for the consecutive years of 2016-2021.
