If you are seeking guidance with improving your well-being help is here. As a therapist I believe you have the ability to find peace and I only seek to provide you with the necessary tools. I believe in empowering others and encouraging you to be the person that you have always sought to be. Many times we feel lost or broken but simply put this is not the way we want to define ourselves. By redefining ones belief system and rebuilding ones interpersonal tools each of us have the ability to improve and find the solace in our lives.
I have worked in varying populations from the inpatient setting assisting with severe mental disorders, to the outpatient environment assisting individuals with a varying list of diagnosis. I understand the stigma associated with mental health and believe in helping others to redefine what mental well-being truly is.
If you are ready to take control of your happiness and find the peace that your desire happiness awaits you.
I want to start by saying I am honored and excited about the opportunity to serve you or your family’s needs. At Family Matters Counseling Center, LLC we strive to work with individuals, couples, and families on topics that sometime may hold us back from reaching our life and relationship goals. Our mission is to provide holistic counseling and personable services to support our diverse client population in achieving their highest potential.
Hi, I am Rachel. I work with couples and families to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and create lasting change. I believe therapy should feel supportive and judgment-free, while also being honest and practical. My goal is to help you get to the root of challenges and build healthier, more connected relationships.
I use evidence-based approaches, including the Gottman Method, to guide partners and families in resolving conflict, rebuilding trust, and deepening connection. Together, we’ll create a safe space where growth feels possible and progress feels real.
“Rachel was very professional while being warm and approachable with the kids. I appreciate the due diligence by contacting the individual providers already working with the kids. Also working with our availability and being flexible is very much appreciated. I look forward to meeting with Rachel weekly ”
Hi, I am Vanessa. I work with couples and families to strengthen connections, improve communication, and navigate life’s challenges together. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative, creating a safe space where healing and growth can take place. Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly a decade as a 9-1-1 Communications Dispatcher, supporting people through some of their most critical moments. That experience taught me to remain calm, empathetic, and present—qualities I now bring into my work with clients. I’m currently completing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. As a Bay Area native shaped by my Latinx heritage and my family’s immigrant journey, I value inclusivity, cultural awareness, and connection. I am also bilingual in Spanish, which allows me to support clients in the language where they feel most comfortable.
I know how overwhelming life’s challenges can feel, and I approach each session with empathy and understanding. Whether you’re navigating personal struggles or relationship difficulties, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you feel truly heard. Together, we’ll work toward building clarity, connection, and resilience to help you move forward. As someone trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, I focus on fostering trust, improving communication, and enhancing emotional connection. I also incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy techniques to help clients identify their strengths and work toward practical, achievable goals. For individuals, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness techniques to support emotional regulation and build coping strategies, particularly for those navigating depression and anxiety. This well-rounded approach helps clients address challenges, develop resilience, and create healthier, more fulfilling lives.
