Krysten Costley, MD, originally from Hartford, Connecticut, and a proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, is a distinguished obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN). She currently serves patients at Capital Women's Care in Arlington, Virginia. 

Raised by Jamaican parents, she is the middle sibling of two boys. Dr. Costley earned her Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Haverford College in Pennsylvania and her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was chief resident in her final year.

Dr. Costley specializes in general obstetric and gynecologic care. She is particularly interested in abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception, fibroid management, hysteroscopy, and minimally invasive surgeries, including laparoscopy and robotic techniques. - Dr. Adebusola Awosanya is a Nigerian-American Obstetrician and Gynecologist who grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland. She later completed her residency training at Howard University Hospital, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Hawa completed his undergraduate studies in Biology and his Masters in Neuroanatomy at the American University of Beirut in 2001 and his medical degree at the University of Balamand In Lebanon where he graduated with honors in 2005 . His passion for gynecology was ignited during medical school where he consistently ranked at the top of his class. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Hawa embarked on a rigorous residency program in obstetrics and gynecology at The George Washington University Hospital , honing his surgical skills and clinical expertise.

During his residency, Dr. Hawa developed a keen interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, which led them to pursue additional fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecology at GWU AAGL MIGS program in 2011. Before beginning his career in Maryland, Dr. Schipper attended the Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara in Zapopan, Mexico. He graduated from university in 1979 and obtained his medical degree from the Track V Program at the University of Maryland Medical School. Dr. Schipper completed both his internship and residency at South Baltimore General Hospital. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

During his medical training, Dr. Schipper studied the fields of obstetrics and gynecology in detail. His areas of interest include vaginal surgery, operative laparoscopy, female incontinence, and pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Heyman completed 4 years of undergraduate training at Michigan State University. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she attended medical school at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After medical school, Dr. Heyman completed her internship and residency at the Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Her professional interests include minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery, adolescent gynecology, and menopausal gynecology. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, watching movies, traveling, and being outdoors.

Dr. Thomas-Spencer earned a bachelor’s of science degree in biology from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she graduated in 1993. Dr. Thomas-Spencer also served in the 2290th United States Army Reserves Unit during the Desert Storm War in 1991.

After receiving her undergraduate degree, Dr. Thomas-Spencer went to medical school at Howard University College of Medicine, where she graduated in 1999. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Morehouse School of Medicine and Grady Memorial Hospital in 2003.

Dr. Thomas-Spencer is married and has 1 daughter. She grew up in Frederick, Maryland, and she is excited and proud to be practicing medicine in her hometown.

Eva Pickler, MD, FACOG, joined Capital Women’s Care (Division 33) in Frederick in May 2024. A native of North Carolina, Dr. Pickler received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University. She also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After a career in the corporate world, Dr. Pickler went on to earn her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1998 and completed her residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee in 2002. She remained in Johnson City for fourteen years in private practice before relocating to northern Virginia. She has been an obstetric hospitalist at Frederick Health Hospital since 2017.

Dr. Pickler is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her practice with Capital Women’s Care is focused on caring for the obstetric patient in the hospital setting and performing urgent gynecologic surgeries as needed.

Dr. Pickler is married and has a menagerie of animals. She believes in striving for your goals, one of which she completed for herself in 2021 when she summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. In her spare time, she enjoys personal fitness, steeplechase horse racing, and travel, including a yearly trip to Guatemala for medical missions.

Tushar Shetty, MD joined the team at Capital Women's Care Frederick in 2024. Raised in Metro Detroit, Dr. Shetty completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Science in both Neuroscience and Spanish in 2014. He then worked as a secondary education teacher through Teach for America in Southwest Detroit. Through that experience, he gained an interest in health education, especially in teen pregnancy as the school accommodated pregnant students. This brought him to medicine, where he completed his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2020, further growing his passion for women's health. He stayed in Detroit to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Detroit Medical Center - Hutzel Women's Hospital in 2024.

Dr. Shetty is passionate about holistic obstetric and gynecologic care, offering comprehensive services and acute care. He is training in minimally invasive surgery. His interests include uterine fibroids management and contraceptive care. He understands his unique position as a provider allows him to serve as an advocate for women, and aspires to provide longitudinal care from adolescence to post-menopause.
