He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College before obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University. He then returned to Cleveland to complete advanced orthodontic training at Case Western Reserve University. Over the next seven years, he practiced in his hometown, helping more than 3,000 patients improve their oral health and confidence through orthodontic treatment.

Driven by a desire to continually expand his expertise, Dr. Copeland joined BronxCare Health System in 2018 to pursue advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and dental implants. His leadership, clinical excellence, and dedication to patient care earned him the distinction of Chief Resident.

When the COVID-19 pandemic emerged in 2020, Dr. Copeland answered a call to serve beyond the dental profession. Dr. Denise Nguyen is an accomplished orthodontist with over 25 years of experience in providing traditional braces, Invisalign?, lingual braces, LightForce braces, and more. She takes her time with each patient, carefully listening to their concerns and explaining treatment options in detail.

After initially earning a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, Dr. Nguyen pursued her dream of becoming a dentist, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA where she graduated magna cum laude. She then went on to earn her certificate in orthodontics from Howard University in Washington, DC. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and Northern Virginia Dental Society. She is fluent in English and Vietnamese.

When she is not improving her patients’ smiles, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, playing piano, and giving back to her local community, including involvement with Mission of Mercy VA, Hope for Tomorrow, VietFest and more.

After graduating from Emerson High School in New Jersey, Dr. Gray received her B.S. degree in Biology from Fairleigh Dickensen University in New Jersey. Dr.Well graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Maryland Dental School and completed his orthodontic training at University of Colorado. Dr. Gus Gialamas is one of the founders of Sea View Orthopaedics and has been practicing sports medicine and general orthopedic surgery in San Clemente for over 20 years. He is well known and respected within the San Clemente and surrounding community for his expertise and dedication to patient care. Throughout his career, Dr. Gialamas has gained extensive experience performing and teaching arthroscopic procedures, including rotator cuff and labral repair, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, and microfracture. Additionally, he has considerable expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery and fracture treatment.

He earned his Bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University and his Medical Doctorate from The University of Health Science-Chicago Medical School. Dr. Gialamas then completed a research fellowship at the Harrington Arthritis Research Center in Phoenix, Arizona, followed by a core general surgical internship at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery there in 1992. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

After completing his training, Dr. Gialamas moved to San Clemente, where he co-founded Sea View Orthopaedics. He served as Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery, Chief of Surgery, and Chief of Staff at Saddleback Memorial San Clemente Hospital. He was also on the active staff at Mission Hospital and Children's Hospital in Mission Viejo, California.

Dr. Gialamas dedicates much of his free time to serving the San Clemente community and others around the globe. He is a member of the Board of Operation Rainbow, a non-profit organization dedicated to performing free orthopedic surgeries for indigent children in developing countries worldwide who do not have access to necessary medical procedures or equipment. He is also a founding member of the Board of Directors for the American Freestyle Motocross Association. In addition, Dr. Gialamas served as a team physician for Saddleback College and San Clemente High School and is a board member for the San Clemente Boys and Girls Club. Kelly Choi, DMD, MSD, is well-versed in traditional and modern orthodontic treatment modalities. She brings her enthusiasm and experience to Smile Orthodontics with offices in Santa Rosa and Windsor, California.

Joseph Eliason, DDS, MSD, APC, provides one-of-a-kind care at Smile Orthodontics with offices in Santa Rosa and Windsor, California. He brings a warm personality and extensive training in cutting-edge orthodontic technology to the team.

Dr. Eliason loves working with kids of all ages, from 7-70. He and his wife, Jana, have four children of their own: Lily, Noah, Gracie, and Josie. He is an avid cyclist and loves exploring the roads of Sonoma County and the trails at Annadel State Park. Dr. Eliason and his family make their home in Windsor, California.  

Joseph Kunnel, DDS, MS, PhD, is a highly experienced orthodontist who provides excellent patient care at RISUS Orthodontics, which has three convenient locations in Glenview, Northbrook, and Skokie, Illinois.

Dr. Kunnel earned his dental degree at Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, where he also completed his residency in advanced general dentistry and earned his Master of Science in Biomaterials. He then went on to the University of Illinois, where he completed specialty training in Orthodontics and earned a master’s in Oral Biology. During that time, he also completed a PhD in Bone Biology at Northwestern University Medical School.

Dr. Kunnel is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He’s also a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the International Association of Dental Research, and the American Association of Orthodontics.

In addition to his clinic work at RISUS Orthodontics, Dr. Kunnel is also active in teaching the next generation of orthodontics. He’s currently an assistant professor at Northwestern University Medical School, and he has spent time teaching at Northwestern University Dental School and in the department of orthodontics at the University of Illinois and Marquette University in Milwaukee. He’s lectured at various national and international conferences of dentists and orthodontists, and he has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers.

Dr. Kunnel’s skills and service have been recognized by numerous organizations. The American Association of Orthodontists honored him with the Orhan C. Tuncay Teaching Fellowship Award and the National Institute of Health gave him the Clinical Scientist Award. He’s also the recipient of the Howard Hughes Award. 

When he isn’t treating patients, Dr. Kunnel enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessie, and their children, Theresa, Elizabeth, and George, in their home in Glenview, Illinois. He’s still active with bone biology research, and he likes to read and play tennis.

Danielle Piano, DMD, MS, is a highly skilled and compassionate orthodontist. She keeps her patients’ smiles healthy and beautiful at RISUS Orthodontics, which has three convenient locations in Glenview, Northbrook, and Skokie, Illinois.

Dr. Piano earned her dental degree from Midwestern University’s College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. She went on to complete specialty training at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, where she earned a Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. 

Dr. Piano provides her patients with exceptional treatments, using the most modern tools and technology available to dentistry. Dr. Piano grew up among dental professionals in Burr Ridge, Illinois. Dr. Lawrence Hier has been helping patients attain beautiful smiles in South Florida for over 20 years.
