After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine, Dr. Firouz went to UCLA School of Dentistry to receive his Doctorate Degree. He attended University of Connecticut to receive specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 1989. He returned to UCLA to teach and held positions as co-director and chairman of the pre-doctoral dental clinic. His research project in preventative orthodontics was published in the prestigious, American Journal of Orthodontics.
Joseph Kunnel, DDS, MS, PhD, is a highly experienced orthodontist who provides excellent patient care at RISUS Orthodontics, which has three convenient locations in Glenview, Northbrook, and Skokie, Illinois.
Dr. Kunnel earned his dental degree at Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, where he also completed his residency in advanced general dentistry and earned his Master of Science in Biomaterials. He then went on to the University of Illinois, where he completed specialty training in Orthodontics and earned a master’s in Oral Biology. During that time, he also completed a PhD in Bone Biology at Northwestern University Medical School.
Dr. Kunnel is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He’s also a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the International Association of Dental Research, and the American Association of Orthodontics.
In addition to his clinic work at RISUS Orthodontics, Dr. Kunnel is also active in teaching the next generation of orthodontics. He’s currently an assistant professor at Northwestern University Medical School, and he has spent time teaching at Northwestern University Dental School and in the department of orthodontics at the University of Illinois and Marquette University in Milwaukee. He’s lectured at various national and international conferences of dentists and orthodontists, and he has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers.
Dr. Kunnel’s skills and service have been recognized by numerous organizations. The American Association of Orthodontists honored him with the Orhan C. Tuncay Teaching Fellowship Award and the National Institute of Health gave him the Clinical Scientist Award. He’s also the recipient of the Howard Hughes Award.
When he isn’t treating patients, Dr. Kunnel enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessie, and their children, Theresa, Elizabeth, and George, in their home in Glenview, Illinois. He’s still active with bone biology research, and he likes to read and play tennis.

Dr. Yoram Kohanzadeh is a graduate of UMDNJ's Orthodontic program, now known as Rutgers University Hospital. He obtained both his DDS and BS from UCLA. Dr. Kohanzadeh prioritizes clear communication to make sure the best possible treatment outcome is obtained. He is energetic and greatly enjoys orthodontics and working with his patients to deliver them their unique smile and to positively reinforce their self image. He is involved with many of local programs and societies, including the AAO, PCSO and CAO. He is currently a committee member of the NYM board of the PCSO.
Dr. Lawrence Hier has been helping patients attain beautiful smiles in South Florida for over 20 years. He is the orthodontist that people of all ages turn to for optimum oral care in a friendly, comfortable environment. With an office conveniently located in central Jupiter, he provides patients with easy access to comprehensive and quality orthodontic care. Dr. Clark Cash has been practicing orthodontics since 1992 and prior to that practiced general dentistry for three years. Dr. Cash has both a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in dentistry from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY. He also earned his Master’s in Orthodontics from the University of Kentucky (1989-1992). The years of additional training to be an orthodontic specialist make him uniquely qualified to provide the highest level of orthodontic care.
Dr. Cash remarried a year and a half ago to Trudy. They have six adult “children” and three grandchildren. They love to be outdoors, hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, and skiing. They closely follow college athletics, and he is a big soccer fan. He also loves to cook and is a big foodie.
Dr. Clark is passionate about faith-based dental mission work. He ran a mission clinic for 18 years that did general dentistry. Dr. Larry Moray is the President and Founder of MyOrthodontist. He brings a unique perspective to his practice. His life philosophy has been to enjoy the richness of life’s many experiences, and this permeates all his endeavors. Dr. Moray moved to Chapel Hill in 1979, entering a Ph.D. program in neurobiology.
He later completed dental training at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Dentistry and spent one year in a hospital dental residency in Hampton, Virginia. Dr. Moray taught at the VCU/MCV School of Dentistry and managed the hospital dental clinic at MCV Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia from 1991 to 1994. Following graduation from his orthodontic residency at UNC in 1997, Dr. Moray opened our first office at Preston Corners in Cary.

Dr. Hunter Neill is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree with highest honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and later went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree where he finished in the top of his class. He completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado Denver earning both a Certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Master of Science Degree.
Dr. Neill spent his first few years after training as an associate working in the Philadelphia area. He attends yearly continuing education courses at the Orthodontic National Convention and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Southern Association of Orthodontics, as well as several regional and local professional organizations.
Dr. Neill was recently married and is moving to North Carolina to build a family and practice closer to home. He cherishes the time he can spend with his family and friends as well as numerous outdoor activities including snow skiing, waterskiing, hiking, climbing and whitewater rafting.
Dr. Renate Soltmann brings her extensive experience to the team at MyOrthodontist. She sees patients out of the practice’s Chapel Hill, North Carolina, location.
Dr. Soltmann, a native of Germany, has lived in the Triangle area since 1979. After graduating with degrees in chemistry and microbiology, she received her DDS degree from the UNC School of Dentistry.
Upon completion of her orthodontic residency from the UNC School of Dentistry, she joined the faculty at UNC Department of Orthodontics for two years. She has been treating patients in Raleigh since 1991 in her own private practice.
Concurrently, Dr. Soltmann has also been serving as adjunct faculty in the UNC Department of Orthodontics, where her main focus is the orthodontic treatment and rehabilitation of patients with cleft lip and palate.
Dr. Soltmann is an award-winning quilter. When she doesn’t sit at her sewing machine, she loves to read and participate in citizen science projects. She has two adult sons, both of whom inherited her interest in science and are aerospace engineers. Dr. Soltmann is excited about being in Roanoke Rapids and Greensboro and is looking forward to meeting everyone.
