Dr. Philip Worthington grew up just outside of our nation’s capital in Fairfax, VA.  Dr. Worthington’s journey to dentistry and orthodontics has been unusual and rich.  Following graduation from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Dr. Worthington received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the same institution.  He worked for two years as a corporate attorney at a large law firm in Philadelphia, PA before deciding to apply to dental school. 

After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Dr. Worthington joined the United States Air Force and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Scott AFB in Belleville, IL.  He practiced for four years as a general dentist at the Travis AFB military hospital in Northern California. Following his military service commitment, Dr. Worthington moved to North Carolina and completed his Orthodontic Residency at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill in May 2020, receiving a Masters in Oral Biology.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Worthington enjoys finding new adventures to share with his three children. He is a proud resident of Durham and a fan of coffee and college athletics.

Dr. Larry Moray is the President and Founder of MyOrthodontist. He brings a unique perspective to his practice. His life philosophy has been to enjoy the richness of life’s many experiences, and this permeates all his endeavors.  Dr. Moray moved to Chapel Hill in 1979, entering a Ph.D. program in neurobiology.

He later completed dental training at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Dentistry and spent one year in a hospital dental residency in Hampton, Virginia. Dr. Moray taught at the VCU/MCV School of Dentistry and managed the hospital dental clinic at MCV Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia from 1991 to 1994. Following graduation from his orthodontic residency at UNC in 1997, Dr. Moray opened our first office at Preston Corners in Cary.

MyOrthodontist has grown tremendously under his guidance and our team of dental professionals now serves multiple communities throughout North Carolina and Southern Virginia.

Dr. Gisela Borget was born in Jalisco, Mexico. She was raised in Utah and attended the University of Utah for her undergraduate studies and went on to receive her D.D.S. from the UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill.

After dental school Dr. Borget completed an orthodontic residency and earned her Master of Science degree at the University of Iowa. Dr. Borget is happily married and enjoys her three children: two girls and a boy.

When not practicing orthodontics, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Borget speaks Spanish fluently and is very excited to work with families in the Burgaw area.

Board-certified Melena Planzos, DMD, MS, brings a passion for dental excellence to her role at Impressive Orthodontics in Brooklyn, New York. A Brooklyn native, Dr. Planzos couldn’t imagine building her professional life anywhere else.

Dr. Planzos earned her dental degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She then completed an additional three years of study at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, earning a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics.

Born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Dr. Planzos is a proud member of the community. She is an alumna of the Genesis Program at Xaverian High school and Bishop Kearney High School. She attended SUNY Binghamton University, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude and was inducted into the National Honors Society, Phi Beta Kappa.

After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine, Dr. Firouz went to UCLA School of Dentistry to receive his Doctorate Degree. He attended University of Connecticut to receive specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 1989. He returned to UCLA to teach and held positions as co-director and chairman of the pre-doctoral dental clinic. His research project in preventative orthodontics was published in the prestigious, American Journal of Orthodontics.

Dr. Gus Gialamas is one of the founders of Sea View Orthopaedics and has been practicing sports medicine and general orthopedic surgery in San Clemente for over 20 years. He is well known and respected within the San Clemente and surrounding community for his expertise and dedication to patient care. Throughout his career, Dr. Gialamas has gained extensive experience performing and teaching arthroscopic procedures, including rotator cuff and labral repair, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, and microfracture. Additionally, he has considerable expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery and fracture treatment.

He earned his Bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University and his Medical Doctorate from The University of Health Science-Chicago Medical School. Dr. Gialamas then completed a research fellowship at the Harrington Arthritis Research Center in Phoenix, Arizona, followed by a core general surgical internship at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery there in 1992. After completing his training, Dr. Gialamas moved to San Clemente, where he co-founded Sea View Orthopaedics. He served as Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery, Chief of Surgery, and Chief of Staff at Saddleback Memorial San Clemente Hospital. He was also on the active staff at Mission Hospital and Children's Hospital in Mission Viejo, California.

Dr. Gialamas dedicates much of his free time to serving the San Clemente community and others around the globe. He is a member of the Board of Operation Rainbow, a non-profit organization dedicated to performing free orthopedic surgeries for indigent children in developing countries worldwide who do not have access to necessary medical procedures or equipment. He is also a founding member of the Board of Directors for the American Freestyle Motocross Association. In addition, Dr. Gialamas served as a team physician for Saddleback College and San Clemente High School and is a board member for the San Clemente Boys and Girls Club. Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Gialamas enjoys spending time with his family whenever possible.

Kelly Choi, DMD, MSD, is well-versed in traditional and modern orthodontic treatment modalities. She brings her enthusiasm and experience to Smile Orthodontics with offices in Santa Rosa and Windsor, California.

Tuncay Teaching Fellowship Award and the National Institute of Health gave him the Clinical Scientist Award. He’s also the recipient of the Howard Hughes Award. 

When he isn’t treating patients, Dr. Kunnel enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessie, and their children, Theresa, Elizabeth, and George, in their home in Glenview, Illinois. He’s still active with bone biology research, and he likes to read and play tennis.

Dr. Brahmbhatt grew up in New York. He attended Columbia University's College of Dental Medicine in New York City. During dental school, he was admitted to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. He then stayed at Columbia University to pursue a three-year residency to specialize in Orthodontics. During residency he served as chief resident. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction achieved by the top 30% of orthodontists.
