Mrs. Katherine Peppers has thirty-two years of nursing experience, is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a board-certified Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at DUSON in May of 2016. She is one of only 300+ Nurse Practitioner’s in the United States with a board certification in Pediatric Mental Health. She cares for children and adolescents with a variety of multi-faceted, mental health disorders at her practice located in Knightdale, North Carolina.
She is also on faculty at both Duke University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Nursing. She teaches nurse practitioner students in the graduate school.
Mrs. Peppers has lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for the past 17 years with her husband, Lee, and their two children, Garrison and Jennifer. She and her husband are active Southbridge Fellowship Church, community activities and volunteering.

Dr. McGowan grew up in the Piedmont Triad area of NC and received her medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at ECU in Greenville, NC. She completed her residency and fellowship training at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC and is board certified in General Pediatrics and board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She is thrilled to join CCM as Medical Director, to continue serving the communities of eastern NC.
