Melissa Larzo has been proud to call Johnson City her home since 2011. A native of the southern West Virginia coalfields, she moved to the big city of Morgantown, WV, to begin her undergraduate career as a biology major at West Virginia University in 1993. She completed both her medical training (MD, 2000) and post-graduate training (2003) in pediatrics at WVU School of Medicine.
She continued at West Virginia University Healthcare, working first in both the outpatient clinic and on the inpatient floor at Ruby Memorial Hospital for several years. She later worked at WVU Cheat Lake Physicians, a busy outpatient clinic, before her move to Tennessee.
Melissa and her family moved to Johnson City, where she had the privilege of pausing her career in order to raise her three little ones for several years. After her hiatus, she is excited to once again serve our littlest patients.
Melissa is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the AAP.
