Dr. Judith Lau is thrilled to be the newest member of the Sierra Pacific Pediatrics Family. She is currently taking new patients at both our Fontana and Eastvale locations. Although she is Canadian by birth, Dr. Lau grew up in Temple City, California and attended the University of California, Irvine where she majored in biological sciences. She subsequently found her way back to winter seasons and more than 100 inches of snow per year when she studied at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania.

After graduating from medical school, Dr. Lau completed her pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit from 2016 to 2019. In addition, she served a one year term as Chief Resident of her training program before joining Sierra Pacific Pediatrics in July of 2020. From well-child appointments to sick visits and everything in between, Dr. Lau’s passion for taking care of children shines through in her interactions with patients and families. She strives to be thorough and understanding to the needs of each child that comes through our doors. For annual physicals, Dr. Lau has a habit of asking her school-aged patients: “what do you want to be when you grow up?”. Whether it be an astronaut, ballerina, police officer, or an inventor of gadgets, etc. she’s always delighted to hear about each dream and aspiration. During the height of the outbreak, she spoke to men,women, children and school communities in underserved areas of India, helping them understand how to prevent transmission and access vaccines and treatments.

Erica Chen, MD, is a board-certified allergy and immunology specialist practicing at the Allergy and Asthma Specialist Doctors, Inc. location in West Covina, California. Her practice is centered around the treatment of allergic diseases, including nasal allergies and asthma.

Steigelman, M.D., earned his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, before receiving his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his post-graduate medical training through the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC), where he finished both his residency in Pediatrics and his specialized fellowship in Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Steigelman is double board-certified, holding credentials as a Diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Olalo earned her medical degree from Michigan State University and completed her pediatric residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she also served an additional year as Chief Resident. She went on to complete her pediatric critical care fellowship at UC Davis, gaining extensive training in advanced life support, respiratory management, and multidisciplinary intensive care.

Dr. Fathi has extensive experience caring for critically ill children. He is committed to providing expert, evidence-based care to young patients and their families throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Dr. Fathi earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital and went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric critical care at San Diego Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Fathi currently serves as Vice Chief of Staff and Associate Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Miller Children’s Hospital. With advanced training in complex airway and burn management, Dr. Shyong brings both skill and compassion to her care, supporting families through some of the most challenging medical experiences.

Dr. Shyong earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. She went on to complete a pediatric critical care fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she served as Chief Fellow. During her time at Mass General, she collaborated with specialists at Shriners Boston and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, gaining in-depth experience managing complex pediatric airways and burn injuries.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Shyong has presented extensively at national medical conferences on a range of pediatric critical care topics. She is actively involved in advancing the field through education and research and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
