Dr. Mark D. Klaiman is the co-founder of Point Performance. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Columbia University. He is board certified and has been a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 1994. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Klaiman was a visiting associate in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. He has lectured extensively over the years and has numerous writings and publications focused on the evaluation and management of musculoskeletal soft tissue injuries. Dr. Klaiman received his medical acupuncture training through the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture in 1995 and is recognized as a leading provider of medical acupuncture in the Washington DC region.

Dylan Phillips, MD, is a double board-certified physician in anesthesiology and pain medicine practicing at International Spine Pain & Performance Center, which has offices in Washington, D.C., and Arlington, Virginia. He provides comprehensive interventional pain management care. 

Originally from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Dr. Phillips studied at Georgetown University, graduating cum laude with a degree in human science. He earned his medical degree from Wright State University, graduating in the top 10% of his class, and completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Michigan, followed by fellowship training in chronic and interventional pain at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Prior to joining the International Spine, Pain & Performance Center, Dr. Phillips practiced for four years in Rochester, New York, where he also served as faculty for the Rochester Regional Health PM&R residency program and as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. His clinical interests include interventional spine care and minimally invasive procedures for chronic pain conditions. Dr. Phillips is committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care to help patients achieve lasting pain relief and regain quality of life.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Phillips enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Dr. Lucy Johnson (periodontist), and their Australian Shepherd, Archie.

Nkiruka Arene, MD, is the medical director at Wellspring Clinic in Bel Air, Maryland. She is also the chief physician, board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Arene is also trained in the latest pain management and recovery therapies.

Dr. Kapteyn received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV, followed by a medical internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Kapteyn then pursued his residency at Georgetown University and the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington D.C. He further honed his expertise through fellowship training in interventional pain at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr Kapteyn is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, pain medicine, and board eligible Hospice and Palliative care. A multidisciplinary, balanced approach to pain medicine is a hallmark of his care to bring improvement in function.
From 2009 to 2013, Dr. Kapteyn served as the Medical Director of Pain Medicine at Drake Hospital, a University of Cincinnati Hospital, where he served and at times led the medical executive committee and represented Drake on the drug planning and development committee. Kapteyn subsequently entered private practice with Orthopedic Associates Muskegon, where he worked until 2023. During his career, he also worked as a physician consultant with Hydrocision, and as the physician lead in the development of TenJet for minimally invasive tenotomies. A Grand Rapids, MI native, Dr. Kapteyn loves the warm weather and vibrant culture of the nations capital, Washington, DC, and is excited to return. He enjoys ballroom dancing, performing vocally, performing recently with the Williamsburg Symphony, he enjoys both HIIT and tabata exercising, golfing, cooking, gardening and hiking and mountain biking. He has three college-aged daughters and was married to Nancy Kapteyn for 25 years until she passed away from breast cancer. In her memory, Dr. Kapteyn encourages contributions to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Ramani Peruvemba, MD, is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain management. He currently sees patients at Pain Management Specialists in Rockville, Maryland and Silver Spring, Maryland.

Dr. Peruvemba is a native of the New York City area. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis and his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital (formerly Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester) and an anesthesiology internship at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. Afterward, he completed his residency in anesthesiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and his interventional pain management fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, both in New York City. 

After his specialty training, Dr. Peruvemba joined Pain Management Specialists in 2000. Stuart Hough, MD, is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain management. He is proud to provide a wide range of services to patients at Pain Management Specialists in Rockville and Frederick, Maryland. 

Dr. Hough earned his bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. He then completed his internship in internal medicine at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, New York. Upon graduating, he completed his anesthesiology residency and his pain management fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. After his specialty training, Dr. Hough served in the United States Air Force (USAF) for three years, where he directed the interventional pain management clinic at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio. 

In 2001, Dr. Hough moved home to Maryland to enter private practice and joined Pain Management Specialists. Dr. Fitzpatrick is orginally from West Chester, PA. After completing his undergraudate studies at Johns Hopkins, he earned his M.D. from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Walter Reed Army medical Center, where he later serves as an attending physician prior to joining MVRMA in 2011. Dr. Fitzpatrick's clinical interest include electrodiagnosis, non-operative spine care, neuromuscular diseases, musculosketetal medicine, and spasticity. He is board certified in PM&R, electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular medicine..
