Dr. Cottrill, an Ohio native, was one of a few select students to graduate from a premier six-year dental program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After being one of the youngest in the country to finish dental school, he followed the footsteps of many generations in his family and joined the U.S. Army, where he served on active duty for four years at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. During his time in the military, Dr. Cottrill received additional training with complex restorations, root canals, oral surgery, implants, crowns, bridges, and sedation dentistry. While planning to pursue a prosthodontics residency in the military, he learned his wife was accepted to graduate school in Houston, Tx. Dr. Cottrill then proceeded to a private practice in Houston with an emphasis on cosmetic and implant dentistry while his wife was advancing her education. 

When Dr. Cottrill was given the opportunity to join world renowned prosthodontist and dental implant pioneer Dr. Ronald LuBovich, he relocated to Nashville, where he was trained in advanced prosthodontics, dental lab techniques, and complex implant surgery.
