Whitney Rose, FNP-BC, DCNP, is an exceptionally skilled, board-certified dermatology nurse practitioner. Whitney brings over a decade of nursing expertise to Derm One, a practice that provides medical, surgical, and cosmetic care at their six locations across Virginia and West Virginia. Derm One has offices in Bluefield, Radford, and Wytheville, Virginia, and Beckley, Princeton, and Oak Hills, West Virginia.
A local to the West Virginia community, Whitney obtained her bachelor’s degree at West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Beckley, West Virginia. While enrolled, she spent many hours learning about the basics, such as primary care, women’s health, and emergency medicine.
She then attended West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, and acquired a Master of Science in Nursing. At WVU, Whitney performed over 600 hours in a clinical setting, where she further honed her nursing skills in specific fields of study, such as mental health, weight loss management, and chronic care management.
After graduation, Whitney worked for several reputable health care institutions. She worked in the emergency department for Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia, providing excellent care to patients with complex concerns. Whitney also worked for J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she gained valuable trauma care experience.
Whitney switched to a dermatology focus and provided superior care for patients at Dermatology Associates & Surgery Center and Pinnacle Dermatology. She mastered several skills, including performing excisions, sutures, and biopsies.
Added to her list of recognition, she was the 2016 Cornerstone Award recipient at West Virginia University Medicine for her excellence and dedication to health care.
