Board-certified dermatologist Shirley Chi, MD, specializes in medical and cosmetic dermatology, emphasizing patient advocacy and education. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Southern California, Dr. Chi received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, graduating cum laude with a major in philosophy. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School with the highest honors, completed her dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in downtown Chicago, and served as chief resident during her final year.
Dr. Chi has taught at the University of California, Los Angeles, and previously served as the Director of Dermatology Resident Education at Olive View-UCLA Hospital. She has also previously taught at Loma Linda University and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Dr. Chi received the President of the United States Volunteer Service Award for her dedication to teaching future doctors.
In her free time, Dr. Chi chases around two young children and enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, and traveling. She also loves to read, watch movies, and learn about different cultures and languages. Besides her native English, Dr. Chi speaks French, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.
