Welcome to Crescent Beach Care! As a nurse practitioner, I strive to provide holistic care, focusing on health maintenance, health promotion, and disease management. I also value quality, consistent care to everyone. I moved to St. Augustine in 2018 after living in Gainesville for many years. My family and I jumped at the opportunity to join this beautiful beach community where we enjoy everything outdoors, including kayaking, biking and camping. I'm a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in holistic health care, working closely with patients to achieve their goals and manage chronic conditions through individualized diet, exercise and medical management. A tried-and-true Floridian, Sara was born and raised in Miami, received her BSN from Florida State University in 2006 and MSN from University of Florida in 2012. St Augustine became her forever home in 2007 and life is full of activity with her amazing husband and four busy kids. When not caring for patients, she is likely to be found on the soccer turf or baseball pitch but tries to squeeze in a beach day or camping trip whenever the opportunity arises!

The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research (FSCDR) is a renowned organization solely focused on medical care and clinical research opportunities for those living with Sickle Cell Disease. FSCDR has locations across the State of Florida. Its Flagship is in Hollywood, Florida.

As the only organization in the United States with standalone sickle cell Centers of Excellence, The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research welcomes patients from all over the world. The team of physicians, specialists, care coordinators, case managers, and social work professionals combine to provide all-inclusive care for children and adults with sickle cell disease.

Their stated mission is to tirelessly research, inform, hear, respect, treat, and support all individuals with sickle cell disease, and to make the disease a livable, non-threatening condition. In addition, they do innovative diagnostic testing, such as transcranial Doppler ultrasounds, X-rays, and medical treatments, including infusion services.

Jennifer L. Curro, APRN, is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner at AssociatesMD. She is proud to provide exceptional care to patients at the practice's Plantation, Florida, location. 

Jennifer originally attended the University of Phoenix in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. 

While working full-time in the Emergency Department of a well-known and loved Hospital in Weston, Florida, she completed her Master's in Nursing with a specialization in Family Practice. Her hard work and dedication paid off as she graduated with honors from both programs.

Jennifer is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Nurse Practitioner Council of Palm Beach County, the South Florida Council of Advance Practice Nurses, Inc., the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Emergency Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau, The International Honor Society of Nursing.

Yana Gofman, D.O. is a board-certified physician with extensive experience in primary care, geriatric medicine, and preventative healthcare. She graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she ranked in the top 10% of her class and was the recipient of the prestigious A. Alvin Greber Cardiology Award. 

Dr. Gofman earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 2007, where she received the Outstanding Student Award. She began her academic journey at Ferris State University, demonstrating early on a strong commitment to excellence in her studies.

Her medical training includes completing an internship and residency in osteopathic internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL, from 2011 to 2014. During this time, she gained a robust foundation in managing complex medical conditions across diverse patient populations.

Dr. Gofman has over a decade of professional experience as a primary care physician. Her clinical focus is on treating adult and geriatric patients, emphasizing personalized care and preventative medicine to enhance patient outcomes. With more than four decades as a primary care physician, Richard Reines, MD, brings the highest level of experience and skill to his work at AssociatesMD in Dania Beach, Florida. Dr. Reines is board-certified in family practice by the American Board of Family Medicine, and he welcomes patients from all age groups. 

Dr. Reines earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He went on to complete his internship and residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the main teaching hospital for the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. 

In addition to treating patients in the Dania Beach office of AssociatesMD, Dr. Reines is affiliated with Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. 

As part of a multispecialty medical group, Dr. Reines is able to provide both primary care and many types of specialized care to his patients at AssociatesMD. He speaks English, Spanish, and Guarani fluently.

Dr. Maldonado-Garcia is a seasoned general practitioner with 14 years of experience in internal medicine and medical directorship where she has developed innovative solutions to the complex issues facing patient care. As a proud graduate of the prestigious Ponce School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Dr. Maldonado-Garcia earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2006, laying the foundation for her distinguished medical career. She further honed her skills and knowledge through residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center, South Beach, completing her residency in 2007.

Dr. Maldonado-Garcia has firmly established herself as a prominent primary care physician in South Florida, garnering professional respect and influence within the community through her diverse and multifaceted career. Jeff Spindler, APRN, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Jeff sees patients from the AssociatesMD office in Plantation, Florida. 

Jeff studied at Florida State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Communications. Upon graduation, he attended Florida Atlantic University graduating Magna Cum Laude in the BSN program. 

Jeff worked over six years in a Trauma 1 hospital located in Fort Lauderdale, providing acute care to hundreds of patients. One aspect he disliked about nursing was that once the patient was discharged from the hospital, the nurse no longer participated in the plan of care. 

So Jeff elected to advance his formal education and pursue a Master’s degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at South University, where he graduated with High Honors. Becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner provided him the opportunity to have a more primary role in the care of his patients. 

As a primary care provider, he has been able to deliver quality healthcare to families throughout their life span and health continuum. His plan of care objectives for his patients are based on health promotion and disease prevention.

Having grown up in South Florida, Jeff continues to stay active in many community organizations. During his free time, he plays multiple sports and attends the gym daily. He is an avid sports fan of many Florida teams, including the Florida State Seminoles, the Miami Dolphins, and the Miami Heat.

Cindy Katanick, DO, is a board-certified osteopathic family medicine provider at AssociatesMD in Plantation, Florida. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Katanick watched the “Marcus Welby, MD” television series as a kid and knew then that she wanted to become a doctor.

Dr. Katanick began her career by attending Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies. Following that, she attended medical school at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. Relocating to Madison Heights, Michigan, Dr. Katanick completed her internship at the Oakland General Hospital. It was her Family Practice residency at Southeastern Medical Center in Miami that finally brought her to the sunshine state of Florida.
