I completed my training with a fellowship in reproductive health before returning to the PNW. Frank Marinkovich, MD, is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is proud to provide high-quality care at Eastside Family Health Center in Kirkland, Washington.
He completed his medical education at the American University of the Caribbean in Montserrat in the West Indies and his Internal Medicine residency at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Marinkovich joined Shoreline Family Medical Center in 1991 as an internist and continued there until 1999. In 1999, he established Eastside Family Health Center, and he has had a thriving practice ever since.
Dr. Marinkovich enjoys Internal Medicine, but he is also involved in several other areas of health care. He practices rigorous preventive medicine with a focus on preventing heart disease. He loves occupational medicine and enjoys caring for many of the region’s firefighters and pilots. However, all of his interests, including sports medicine, are based upon the foundation of his strong Internal Medicine training.
Dr. Marinkovich is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Board of Disability Analysts. He is a member of the Federal Aviation Administration and certified as an aviation medical examiner. He is also a Medical Review Officer certified by the American Addiction Society of Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Marinkovich volunteers at the RotaCare Free Clinic in Bellevue and regularly leads medical missions to Kenya and South Africa. He also founded Kingdom Medical Missions International in 2006.
Kendra Fitz Patrick, DNP, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Sound Medical Weight Loss. She partners with her patients throughout Kirkland, Washington, supporting them through their weight loss journeys.
Kendra obtained her degree as a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Washington and has been practicing in family and internal medicine in the Seattle area since 2019. Over the course of her career, she has honed her skills and developed a particular passion for weight and chronic disease management.
To further enhance her expertise, Kendra obtained certification as a weight loss specialist through the Obesity Medicine Association. In another role, she gained leadership experience by assisting in creating and launching a clinic while leading the team to develop strategies to improve weight management care. Before pursuing her doctoral practice, Kendra worked as a pediatrics and primary care nurse. Her other practice interests include women's health, preventive care, and chronic disease management.

Barbara Mendrey, MD, is a skilled physician specializing in addiction medicine. For more than ten years, she has helped men and women end their struggles with addictions to alcohol, opioids, and other substances. She provides comprehensive, integrative treatment for addiction to patients at Northshore Family Practice in Bothell, Washington.
Dr. Mendrey designs personalized care plans that help patients end their dependence on opioids, alcohol, and benzodiazepine medications. Utilizing clinically proven methods, she medically supervises and eases withdrawal symptoms during detox from addictive substances. Originally from Nevada, James moved to Wenatchee, Washington, when he was 13. Before becoming a physician assistant, he worked as an emergency and flight nurse.
James graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at MEDEX Northwest in Seattle, Washington, and completed his clinicals in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is dually board certified in medicine and surgery. After graduating, he worked as the director of two separate emergency departments in Lake Chelan and Newport, Washington.
