James Hawkins, DO, is a vein specialist certified by the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine, with over 30 years of experience. At Fox Valley Vein Centers, Dr. Hawkins serves patients living in and around Sandwich, Yorkville, and Aurora, Illinois.
Dr. Hawkins was born just outside of Chicago in Evergreen Park. He earned his undergraduate degree from Benedictine College, located in Lisle, Illinois, followed by his medical degree from the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. Dr. Hawkins then completed his subsequent residency at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, located in Chicago.
Today, Dr. Hawkins is a registered vascular technologist and a registered physician in vascular interpretation. At Fox Valley Vein Centers, he offers effective solutions for several common vascular conditions, including spider veins and varicose veins. Dr. Hawkins routinely performs vein treatments, including sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, and endovenous ablation using the VenaCure EVLT® system.
Dr. Hawkins has been practicing in Sandwich, Plainfield, and Yorkville for over 20 years, and he is proud to serve his local community. He currently resides in Yorkville with his wife and seven children.

Jacob has clinical experience in both urgent care and emergency department settings. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in neurobiology and psychology. He then studied medicine at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Jacob then went on to become a board-certified physician assistant, focusing on urgent care and emergency medicine.
Jacob is a native of the Chicagoland area and has returned home to give back to his community. He listens to his patients and incorporates shared decision-making to provide compassionate, efficient, and high-quality care.

Shannon Shipman is an NCCPA board certified Physician Assistant. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and Master's degree in PA studies at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. Throughout her rigorous education, she was able to learn all necessary medical skills and put them into practice. Shannon was able to work with many populations during her training in Indiana and learned how to practice patient-centered care. Shannon is interested in all aspects of medicine but has a special passion for women's health, ENT, and dermatologic conditions. Shannon Shipman strives to provide comprehensive, empowering, and patient-centered care to all of her patients no matter the situation at hand. In her free time, Shannon loves taking her dog for walks, trying new restaurants with friends, and crafting.
