He began his studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he attended on an academic scholarship and graduated with honors. Upon graduating and receiving his commission as an officer in the United States Air Force, Dr. Ditz completed his internship and residency in family practice at David Grant USAF Medical Center and the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine. Shirin worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in acute care and medical/ surgical setting prior to her work as a Nurse Practitioner.
