Trent Rice, MD, is a fellowship-trained urogynecologist who joined the team at The Women's Center, PC, located in Stockbridge and Conyers, Georgia, in 2014. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, Dr. Rice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of female pelvic floor disorders, such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary/fecal incontinence, and mesh complications. He offers a wide array of conservative and surgical treatment options to his patients and is experienced both in traditional and minimally invasive surgical repairs.

Dr. Rice grew up in Winder, Georgia. He attended college at the University of Georgia, where he earned a degree in biochemistry and microbiology. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia and subsequently moved to New York City for his general OB/GYN residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. Most recently, he attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he completed his fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (urogynecology). His fellowship training was unique in that it was a combined urogynecology and female urology program, one of the few in the nation. Dr. Rice is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and has had several research publications published in his field’s leading journals. 

When asked why he became a urogynecologist, he states the specialty involves very functional surgery with a large quality of life impact. Simply put, it allows him to change the lives of women who are fearful of social embarrassment from their pelvic floor disorders and give them a life back.

Dr. Rice is happy to have come full circle and made it back to the north Georgia area. Outside of practicing medicine, he has special interests in music. He was a member of a local Athens rock band for many years and continues to enjoy composing and recording music. Recently he had an original song, “Hickory Hollow,” played on Nashville radio. He currently resides in Decatur, Georgia, and regularly performs at local music venues. His wife, Sarah, is also a doctor. She works at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital as a pediatric emergency medicine physician. They have a daughter, Addison, who inspires them daily and is just plain sweet and happy.

Raised in Clayton County, Nykia Burke-Bray, MD is thrilled to join the Fayetteville, GA community, working alongside patients in their pursuit of health and wellness.

Dr. Burke-Bray first developed a passion for service, education, and advocating for women while matriculating through Spelman College. She further honed her interest in building community education programs and public health, achieving a Master of Public Health from the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Dr. Burke-Bray then spent several years building school based, community engagement strategies to promote healthy, active, and safe transportation options for families through the Safe Routes to School Program. Recognizing that her long-term career goal included melding her passions for health, education and direct patient care, Dr. Burke-Bray returned to the classroom and achieved a Master of Biomedical Science from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Suwanee campus before earning her Medical Doctorate at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Burke-Bray then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center-Mercer (MHUMC) in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia in 2021. While at MHUMC, Dr. Burke-Bray earned her place as a scholar in the Resident to Faculty Leadership Development Program. She was also awarded the Excellence in Resident Research award for research projects focusing on raising HPV vaccination rates in the resident clinic and improving resident education around gynecologic surgery and clinical practice. While completing her final year of residency, Dr. Burke-Bray achieved the highest honor, becoming a mother to identical triplet girls.

Dr. Burke-Bray is proud to provide full service obstetric and gynecologic care and to empower patients through every stage of life. Her special interests include adolescent gynecology, PCOS, infertility, preventive health, and minimally invasive surgery.

When she is not assisting patients, Dr. Burke-Bray enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, music, and all things Harry Potter.

Although a native to West Virginia, Matthew Ralsten, MD, is no stranger to the Atlanta metropolitan area. He first completed his undergraduate education at the Georgia Institute of Technology before returning to his home state for medical school at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington.

Dr. Ralsten went on to complete his internship at West Virginia University, where he was recognized as an outstanding teaching resident. He finished his full residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center, a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill community program.

Dr. Ralsten then returned to Georgia, and in 2006, he became a founding member of The Women’s Specialists of Fayette. Dr. Ralsten is board-certified in OB/GYN medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Today, he provides full-service obstetrics and gynecology for women of all ages. In his practice, Dr. Ralsten focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

His special interests include high-risk obstetrics, infertility, and reproductive endocrinology. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including single-site laparoscopic hysterectomies. Dr. Ralsten continually works to help his patients find cutting-edge solutions for all their gynecological problems.

At The Women's Specialists of Fayette, Nicole Quinn, MD, takes pride in helping her patients feel empowered to take part in their own health care. She works alongside her patients in the Fayetteville, Georgia, community to find solutions for their most challenging women's health issues.

Dr. Quinn first completed her undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She later went on to earn her medical doctorate at Louisiana State University Medical school in New Orleans. In 2016, she completed her internship and residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Quinn is also board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

At MetroHealth Medical Center, Dr. Quinn was repeatedly recognized for her exceptional research abilities. She was awarded the Excellence in Resident Research for her many projects on the subject of breastfeeding. Dr. Quinn also earned the Resident Award for Excellence for her accomplishments in performing minimally invasive surgery.

Today, Dr. Quinn's special interests include adolescent gynecology, preventive health, breastfeeding, and low-intervention childbirth. Deidra is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a special focus in women’s health and gynecologic care. She brings over nine years of nursing experience, including backgrounds in medical-surgical, orthopedic trauma, and labor and delivery nursing. Her diverse clinical foundation allows her to deliver care that is both thorough and empathetic.

Deidra earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from LaGrange College and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. She is nationally certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

In practice, Deidra is passionate about providing individualized, evidence-based care and fostering open, supportive relationships with her patients. She believes in empowering women through education, advocacy, and shared decision-making at every stage of life.

Sara O’Heron, MD is honored to provide the community of Peachtree City, Georgia with the highest standard of OB/GYN, pediatric, and women’s health care. As founder of Lifeboat Medical Associates, Dr. O’Heron continues a commitment to serving women and children that stems from her diverse training and professional background.

Born and raised in Wales, United Kingdom, Dr. O’Heron emigrated to Canada to pursue higher education. After completing her undergraduate degree in dance and visual arts, she earned a degree in education. She went on to work with autistic children in the field of special education and helped create a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation program for parents of autistic preschoolers.

Feeling drawn toward medicine, Dr. O’Heron proceeded to earn her medical degree at McMaster University in Ontario, where she specialized in maternal and child health. She went on to complete a fellowship in high-risk surgical obstetrics.

Dr. O’Heron practiced OB/GYN and pediatrics while teaching at McMaster University until the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston recruited her to teach primary care obstetrics. While in Texas, she worked in an underserved area and specialized in evaluating cases of child abuse. Then, she moved to Peachtree City, Georgia to teach full time at Emory University.

In 1999, Dr. O’Heron opened Lifeboat Medical Associates, where she proudly continues to serve her community as a skilled OB/GYN and pediatrician. She still maintains an affiliation with Emory University, Mercer University, and Medical College of Georgia, where she teaches aspiring medical professionals. Dr. O’Heron also continues to work with social services, child placement agencies, and children with autism or developmental issues.
