Jana Dopson Illston, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN and urogynecologist serving patients at North Atlanta Ob/Gyn, which has locations in Alpharetta, Marietta, and Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Twyner grew up in Pass Christian, Mississippi – a quaint, coastal community on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with a laid-back vibe and a strong commitment to camaraderie and hospitality. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry graduating Summa Cum Laude from Xavier University. After her family relocated to Atlanta due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she chose to complete her medical training at Emory University School of Medicine and Rollins School of Public Health earning a MD and MPH degree simultaneously. She completed Obstetrics and Gynecology at Morehouse School of Medicine serving as the Administrative Chief Resident in 2017. Since then, she has practiced General Obstetrics and Gynecology with special interests in family planning, fertility management, peri-menopause and menopausal conditions and minimally invasive surgery techniques.
